PAGE 16 BUYER & CELLAR, MAYTAG VIRGIN, STORYTELLER SERIES A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTORS

We’re all looking for a bright spot in these troubled times— neutral ground where we can meet each other halfway (and six feet apart) to enjoy the things we can all agree on. Theatre always finds us there with some laughs, some excitement, and some heartwarming moments. We are so grateful to be moving forward with Season 8, and we are so grateful for the overwhelming support we have received from our sponsors, VIP members, and patrons this year.

First Date is such a fun musical to launch our Professional series this season. Everyone can relate to disastrous first dates - sitting across the table from someone as the voices in our heads tell us things like “Mom was right, I should have found a nice boy from church to go out with.”

Our NEW Second Stage series is launching this season with two cabarets! We can’t wait for you to experience the talented performers of ECTC in a more casual atmosphere. Make plans to join us as you get to know our actors offstage!

We are also so excited about launching our TVY (Theatre for the Very Young) series with Dot and Ziggy. We are finding so many fun ways to create joy and the wonder of discovery for our little audience members.

On a personal note, we might be most looking forward to our educational productions of Annie Kids because our own little Miss Hannigan has been belting out her rousing rendition of “Little Girls” for months now. Getting to see her shine on stage along with all the other Mini and Little Players will be a highlight for us!

Legally Blonde Jr. is also not to be missed. We are so proud of our teens and how they give 100% to each rehearsal. Mr. PJ and Mrs. Tara have created a positive teamwork environment and each student has become an integral part of the show and our tribe here at ECTC.

Another new series we’ve added in the Second Stage series this year is the Listening Lounge. Our inaugural band, Longleaf Drive, will get us all in the mood to relax, chat with friends, and just enjoy being alive.

We are here and breathing with life and joy and community. We are moving forward with laughter and hope, and we are so glad that you’ve decided to join us.

Here’s to Season 8!

Longleaf Drive is a local Old Time, and Bluegrass band.

The name Longleaf is inherited from our local Longleaf pines, and the suffix Drive is for the punching rhythm this band produces!

CHRIS WILLMAN RICKY STANFIELD JUSTIN WRIGHT DAN JOHNSTON Guitar/Lead Vocals Mandolin Banjo Bass/Backup Vocals

The band originated in 2018 when Ricky Stanfield, and Chris Willman reunited after Ricky saw a video of Chris sitting in with Roland White at the Station Inn. This reignited his love for Bluegrass, and Acoustic Music.

They began playing mostly as a Duo, and still often do, however the band has grown allowing more members to join in, and achieve a fuller sound.

This band loves to improvise over the songs they play so you’ll hear some real Florida Fresh Pickin! They are known for playing many traditional tunes, as well as some classics! Their song list ranges from the Grateful Dead to Jimmy Martin, with many stops between, and some Originals to top it off!
