Entertaining but not amazing like the first 2 purge movies.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Awesome!By JARMThis book is awesome!A new twist on post-apocalyptic America. Couldn't put it down. Suspenseful as hell and the characters we're totally believable and you we're routing for them the whole time. Kept me on the edge of my seat. If you're looking for a good adventure novel look no further. From James DeMonaco, the writer/director of The Purge film franchise, comes the provocative and terrifying last stand of a lone outpost of women in the wake of a deadly pandemic. Allie Hilts was still in high school when a fire at a top-secret research facility released an air-borne pathogen that quickly spread to every male on the planet, killing most. Allie witnessed every man she ever knew be consumed by fearsome symptoms: scorching fevers and internal bleeding, madness and uncontrollable violence. The world crumbled around her. No man was spared, and the few survivors were irrevocably changed. They became disturbingly strong, aggressive, and ferocious. Feral. Three years later, Allie has joined a group of hardened survivors in an isolated, walled-in encampment. Outside the guarded walls the ferals roam free, and hunt. Allie has been noticing troubling patterns in the ferals' movements, and a disturbing number of new faces in the wild. Something catastrophic is brewing on the horizon, and time is running out. The ferals are coming, and there is no stopping them. With Feral, writer/director James DeMonaco and acclaimed novelist Brian Evenson have created a challenging and entertaining novel of timely horror and exhilarating suspense. "FERAL starts out by being creepy. As it moves forward FERAL becomes chilling and then turns terrifying. This is definitely--absolutely, positively--a book to be read with all the lights on!"--Robert McCammon, bestselling author of Swan Song and Boyrsquo;s Lifenbsp;"Feral is nasty excitement, a wild, jolting ride from start to finish. Enjoy."-- Andrew Pyper, author of The Demonologist"DeMonaco and Evenson hit the mark with their collaboration...Fans of more traditional zombie tales will appreciate the quick pacing and familiar tropes, and those who just donrsquo;t know if they can take one more story about the undead would do well to try this one. Feminism is alive and well in Feral."-- Booklist"A bloody tale of apocalypse...Told from multiple perspectives, this nail-biter, packed with plenty of gore to satisfy horror fans, offers a neat woman-power twist on the zombie-apocalypse story and a surprisingly poignant, satisfying finale."--Publishers Weekly"It is a fresh take on an old trope that also explores the nature of humanity and the relationships we forge with each other, often finding moments of touching vulnerability among the horrors of this new world...The zombie story has been done many times before, but not quite like this."--This is Horror"Feral is a novel of hard left turns. Just when you think the story is heading one way, authors DeMonaco and Evenson twist the wheel and the reader finds him/herself barreling down another twisty path. Itrsquo;s fast-paced, action-packed, and screams for a movie adaptation. So let's do the math: (BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER ndash; vampires) + (THE WALKING DEAD ndash; zombies) + (ROMEO AND JULIET ndash; family feuds and suicide pacts) = FERAL.nbsp; It adds up.nbsp;Feralnbsp;is recommended."--Bookgasm"Feral is well-paced but not too fast, with a tight storyline, solid character development, and a unique take on the post-apocalyptic survival story...the book makes for some great summer reading."--Horror TalkAbout the AuthorJames DeMonaco is the writer and director of the feature films The Purge, The Purge: Anarchy, The Purge: Election Year, and Staten Island, New York. He also wrote the films The Negotiator and Assault on Precinct 13, as well as created and executive-produced the cable television miniseries The Kill Point. He lives in both Staten Island and Manhattan with his wife and daughter. He is an avid New York Yankees fan.B. K. Evenson is the pen name for Brian Evenson, who has been a finalist for the Edgar Award, the Shirley Jackson Award, and the World Fantasy Award and a winner of the International Horror Guild Award and the American Library Associationrsquo;s award for Best Horror Novel, as well as having one of his novels selected as a Time Out New York top book. The recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship and three O. Henry Prizes, Evenson lives in Southern California.Excerpt. copy; Reprinted by permission. A pharmaceutical company taking advantage of lax federal controls to work with living viruses and genetic splicing. ldquo; We have safeguards, we have procedures, we know exactly what wersquo;re doing, wersquo;re responsible, and if wersquo;re not, if we do something irresponsible, you can fine us.rdquo; Yeah, right. Thatrsquo;s how companies worked in those days: maximize profits and weigh loss of life or health against that, a cold-blooded translation of human life into dollars and cents. Whatever their protocols, their gene vector virus mutated and made the leap from animal to human, traveling quickly, airborne. For some reason, the virus only affected males, making those men that survived the initial infection that dramatically sped up their metabolism, and made their bodies go crazy, nearly rabid, aggressive with one another, but incredibly hostile to women. Fines? Nobody was left to enforce any fines against Arcon. Society had collapsed by then. Three years later, it was still collapsedmdash;a little hard to rebuild a society when half the people in it are rabid and trying to kill the other half. And since men are infected and all men seem susceptible, even if we could rebuild, humanity wouldnrsquo;t last more than a generation.nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; What do you do when you discover your species has a limited shelf life? Do you try to make the most of the time you have left? Do you try to leave evidence behind, in case something else comes along, in case some other animal is foolish enough to evolve and become the next humans? Or do you simply live one day at a time, trying to ignore the ticking clock, hoping without truly believing it possible that some sort of solution will be found? One day, and then the next, and then the next, just trying to stay alive . .nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; Most of the survivors hunkered down, staying alert but never looking for trouble. They locked themselves in ones or twos in basements or survival shelters, eating canned food and drinking bottled water until they had to go outside to forage. Once outside, they usually didnrsquo;t last more than a day or two. All it took was a single feral catching your scent and then you were hunted down and slaughtered. Allie, though, had grown up hunting with Dad, and she was always one step ahead of the ferals, though every time she went out the door to try to find us something to eat I wondered if this would be the time she didnrsquo;t manage to make it back.nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; I remember the first time she came home soaked in feral blood and was confused at first by my concernmdash;I thought shersquo;d been injured. She looked at me with incomprehension for a moment and then laughed. ldquo;Irsquo;m fine, rdquo; she said, ldquo;but you should see the other guy.rdquo; It was a way to mask her scent, she explained, so that they wouldnrsquo;t know she was there. We never did talk about what had happened with Dad. I didnrsquo;t want to, and I donrsquo;t think she did, either. I only knew the first part of it, before hersquo;d knocked me out, but I could at least guess at the rest when I woke up in Alliersquo;s arms with her rocking me. Dad dead, Mom dead. Thatrsquo;s the past. No use thinking about it. Better to remember the kitchen as it was that long ago morning, before the world went crazy.nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; After a year like this, Allie found something and everything changed for us. Wersquo;re now in a much different place. Better, Irsquo;d say, but I donrsquo;t know that Allie would agree.nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; Through the scope, she could see glimpses of the herd of deer, running and leaping through the dense forest undergrowth.

Gary Gray Contact email: [email protected] Deadline: 15 November 2017 When his 2017 blockbuster film The Fate of the Furious immediately smashed global box office records, it was only the latest in a string of improbable accomplishments from F. Gary Gray, a director who has quietly yet consistently developed an oeuvre that defies easy classification. F. Gary Gray began his career as a sometimes actor and music video director working with hip hop artists like Ice Cube, Queen Latifah, and Outcast, before breaking into film with the cult-classic,Friday (1994). He quickly established himself as an auteur with a distinctive style and a flair for unexpected stories, from the black female-driven bank heist filmSet It Off (1997), to an action-thriller about corrupt police, The Negotiator (1998). Throughout the rise and fall of the vogue for so-called “urban” films, Gray was a mainstay in Hollywood’s stable of black directors, a description his work has never shied away from. By 2015, he had officially arrived, as both an Academy Award-nominated director and a bona fide box office superstar with the success of Straight Outta Compton. We are currently soliciting 200-250 word abstracts for essays to be included in a volume on F.

Adapun mengenai keanekaragaman ras, A.L. Kroeber membuat klarifikasi ras dengan spesifik sebagai berikut ( Murdiyatmoko,2007:7 ) : 1. Austroloid : penduduk asli Australia (Aborigin). 1 2. Mongoloid, yang terdiri atas : a) Asiatic Mongoloid (Asia Utara, Asia Tengah, dan Asia Timur) b) Malayan Mongoloid (Asia Tenggara, Indonesia, Malaysia, Filipina, dan penduduk asli Taiwan) c) American Mongoloid (Penduduk Asli Amerika) 3.
