Community Matters

On the 27th March our Community Relations Manager, Nicola Schneider and Operations Manager, Tim Mansell, attended Durrington Town Council’s Annual Parish Meeting. The meeting consisted of information stands from local businesses and stakeholders, displaying information to showcase what’s happening in the local community. The evening also consisted of presentations from Wildlife Trust and Highways . Our stand provided information on our Larkhill SFA development and its archaeological discoveries, house types and FAQs. It was an enjoyable evening which provided Lovell with an opportunity to answer any questions or concerns from the community.

Presentations were made by Major General Richard Wardlaw, ABP, Infrastructure Delivery, Aspire and Lovell. After lunch the visiting party spent a short time observing the progress of Ludgershall SFA site and then moved on to continue their whistle-stop tour of Larkhill Camp, Tidworth and Bulford, as well as the local school sites that form part of the Army Basing Programme.

Meet the Subcontractors

Chasetown Civil Engineering Ltd have over 40 years of industry experience in the house building sector. They provide civil, infrastructure, roads & sewers, earthworks and groundworks services. Chasetown previously worked with Lovell in 2015, on our Stafford project, where Lovell provided 346 SFA at Beacon Barracks. November 2017 saw Chasetown reappointed for our Salisbury Plain project. They initially started work on our Bulford site, commencing with an extensive muck shift. In February 2018 they were also fully mobilised on our Ludgershall site and commenced with works to prepare the site for foundations.

Images of Chasetown in action on the Ludgershall site. John Leary, Major Projects Director on appointing Chasetown…

“The key to programme adherence on any housing development is the construction of roads, sewers and plot groundworks. For us it has always been an imperative that we work with a proven subcontractor and Chasetown Civil Engineering has delivered for Lovell across a number of schemes over the years, most notably MOD Stafford. Delivery capability alone is not enough however. We are keen to partner with like-minded businesses who are project focussed, have the highest standards in health and safety and a positively collaborative approach to commercial and operational matters. Chasetown are very much of this mould and we are delighted to have them alongside us on this extremely exciting scheme.”

Stuart Dobell, Managing Director of Chasetown on working with Lovell…

“Having enjoyed playing our part in successfully completing the project at Stafford with our colleagues at Lovell in 2015 we were delighted to be invited to continue our relationship by being involved in their new challenge on Salisbury Plain. Clearly the magnitude of the new project brings different demands but we know the management team well and have an excellent collaborative working arrangement with them. The new project has commenced smoothly as planned and I’m sure, continuing to work together in the same vein, will bring another successful project completion of which we will all again be proud.”
