Thank you for supporting the 41st annual Cable Air Show at Cable located in Upland, . Formally known many years ago as the Pomona Valley Air Faire, this is the long longest running air show in Southern California and the first air show of the season.

The many volunteers of Chapter 448 of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), San Gabriel Valley 99’s, Cable Airport Foundation and Cable Airport coordinate this annual event. Proceeds from the Air Show go to these non-profit organizations which help young adults in our community advance their interests in .

The Cable Airport Foundation and Chapter 448 of the EAA have established scholarship funds through the Aviation Departments at Mt. San Antonio College, Chaffey College and Orange Coast College to assist young adults in funding a their future as an aviation mechanic or as an Air Traffic Controller. The Rob Cable Memorial Fund, a subsidiary of the Cable Airport Foundation, assists individuals starting their private pilot training or wanting to go on to advanced training for potential commercial aviation employment. The San Gabriel Valley 99’s, a group of women pilots, provide aviation training scholarships as well. Proceeds from this event are also donated to the Cadet Program and used to support educational aviation exhibitions on display at the Upland Public Library and at the Cooper Museum located here in Upland.

To promote community awareness, we invite organizations from throughout our community to display their programs during our event. Typical displays include the Upland Police Department’s Explorer Post, the Chaffey College Aeronautics Department, Armed Forces Displays, San Bernardino Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Team, Upland VFW Post, American Red Cross, and the Civil Air Patrol. And we are expecting more!

Each year we have a “Media Day”, which is the Friday preceding the Air Show. We invite people from the local newspapers, airplane magazines, and television stations to meet with the sponsors and committee members. We provide a variety of aircraft for both static display and aerial demonstrations. For the 12th year, we will have a “Special Program for Special People” where we invite individuals and groups who are physically and/or mentally challenged, along with senior citizens, who otherwise might not be able to attend the Saturday or Sunday activities. This event is provided complements of the Air Show Committee.

The Cable Air Show is conducted as an activity of the Cable Airport Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization. Accordingly, donations to the Cable Air Show qualify as charitable contributions under Internal Revenue Code section 170.

We thank you for partnering with us and making this Air Show a success. Please join us the second weekend in January for this spectacular family event.
