Temporary Closure of A361 Woodlands Road to Stockbridge Lane

TAKE NOTICE that in pursuance of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the County Council of Somerset have made an Order PROHIBITING ALL TRAFFIC from proceeding along A361 Woodlands Road to Stockbridge Lane from A361 Woodlands Road to Stockbridge Lane, 60m south west of the junction with East Street Lane to A361 Woodlands Road to Stockbridge Lane, 75m north east of the junction with Gory Lane, for a total distance of 260 metres.

This order will enable Somerset Highways to carry out resurfacing in this road.

The Order becomes effective on 06 October 2014 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The works are expected to last for 5 evenings (18.30 - 23.30) . While the closure is in operation an alternative route will be signed as detailed below.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE

From the western end of the closure proceed in a south westerly direction along the A361 to the Street Road Roundabout, Glastonbury. At the Street Road Roundabout take the third exit and continue in a north easterly direction along the A39 to the Strawberry Way Roundabout, Wells. At the Strawberry Way Roundabout take the third exit and continue in a south easterly direction along the A371 to the Whitstone Road Roundabout, Shepton Mallet. At the Whitstone Road Roundabout take the third exit and continue in a south westerly direction along the A37 to the junction with the A361. Turn right and proceed in a south westerly direction along the A361 to the eastern end of the closure, and vice versa.
