NEWARK 19 MOHAWK VALLEY 6 NEWARK, N.Y. – The Pilots set a PGCBL 2012 season high and a franchise record by scoring 19 runs in a lopsided win over the DiamondDawgs on Saturday night at Colburn Park. Newark scored at least one run in six of eight at-bats. Nine Pilots overall recorded at least one run, seven of nine scored multiple times and eight of nine had at least one hit and one run. The defending league champions broke the game open with six runs in the second and five in the fourth to amass a commanding 13-2 lead. Josh Crowdus (Delta St.) went 3-for-5 with four runs and two RBI, Brent Langston (Delta St.) drove in three runs, Joe Landi (URI) tallied three times and drove in two runs and Cash Barker (TAMUK) was 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored. Three Newark relievers did not allow a Mohawk Valley run over the final 4.1 innings; Chris Rogers (Okla. Baptist) tossed 2.1 scoreless frames to earn the win. Jack Morrow (Young Harris) plated three of Mohawk Valley’s six runs and Joe Carcone (Bryant) had a team high two hits.
