NOTICE OF HEARING APPLICATION NO. 1483074 ATCO ELECTRIC LTD. CONSTRUCT UPDIKE SUBSTATION 886S AND 144-KV TRANSMISSION LINE 7L34

Nature of Application ATCO Electric Ltd. (ATCO) applied to the Energy and Utilities Board on October 17, 2006, pursuant to Sections 14 and 15 of the Hydro and Electric Energy Act, for approval to

• construct proposed 144/25-kV Updike substation 886S to be located in Legal Subdivision (LSD) 8, Section 18, Township 74, Range 12 West of the 6th Meridian;

• alter existing Goodfare substation 815S located in LSD 13, Section 34, Township 72, Range 11 West of the 6th Meridian;

• construct 27 kilometres of 144-kV transmission line designated as 7L34 from existing Goodfare substation to proposed Updike substation;

• alter existing transmission line 7L07 from substation 731S to Poplar Hill substation 790S by terminating it at Goodfare substation 815S and continuing to operate that portion of the line from Goodfare substation to Poplar Hill substation as transmission line 7L07; and

• re-designate that portion of existing 7L07 between Goodfare substation and Elmworth substation as transmission line 7L69.

The proposed development is described in more detail in the subject application and the proposed route is shown on the attached map.

THEREFORE Take Notice that anyone wishing to participate in the EUB application process should file their submission (see description below) with the Board prior to 2:30 p.m. April 6, 2007. If no valid objections are received by that time, the EUB may continue to process Application No. 1483074 (the Application) without further notice.

Further Take Notice that in the event that valid objections are filed with the Board, the Board would then hold a public hearing on the subject application commencing at 9:00 AM on April 18, 2007 at the Quality Hotel and Conference Centre located at 11201 – 100 Avenue in , Alberta . 2

The EUB prefers submissions in an electronic format although handwritten, mailed or faxed are equally acceptable. If possible, the Board prefers electronic documents versus emailed scanned documents.

Submissions relating exclusively to compensation for land usage are not dealt with by the EUB but may be referred to the Alberta Surface Rights Board.
