UEFA takes action on agents

First meeting in Nyon of the professional football working group to examine the role of agents in European football

The first meeting of the professional football working group on the role of agents in European football took place today at UEFA HQ in Nyon, .

UEFA was asked on several occasions by key stakeholders to take action regarding the role of agents within professional football in Europe. In response, a working group has been created by UEFA to look at the situation. The working group comprises experts from all key stakeholder groups such as agents, associations, clubs, leagues, player unions and FIFA.

The discussions today in Nyon centred on the key issues and problems in this area, both on a European level but also taking into account the wide range of different experiences and practices occurring at national level.

The purpose of the working group is to develop recommendations and proposals to improve the situation within professional football in Europe.
