Dates: Saturday 28 November, Start Time: Sunday 29 November and Meeting registration - 7.00am to 9.00am each day Monday 30 November 2020. Meeting opens - 9.00am each day. Venue: Rovers Soccer Club 1 Alexander Street Utakarra, Geraldton, WA, 6530 Finish Time: 4.30pm each day

Note: COVID-19 is a contagious virus which the World Health Organisation has declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern. Risk of community transmission in is currently low but if COVID-19 is contracted the consequences can be severe. There is no known vaccine or cure and treatment options are uncertain. In attending the meeting and completing the necessary travel you voluntarily accept the risk that you may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19. Purpose of the meeting is to consider the following matters if required: Day One: For current Wajarri Yamatji claim group – Minangu Land Group meeting 1. Resolving Minangu Land Group issues as directed by mediation outcomes and other Minangu matters. (All Wajarri Yamatji current claim group members are welcome to attend this meeting but the focus is on Minangu Land Group issues. See the explanatory materials accompanying this notice, including land group area map, to determine whether you are interested in attending this Day One meeting.)

Day Two (Morning): For current Wajarri Yamatji claim group members 2. Authorising a replacement applicant for the Wajarri Yamatji #1 claim (WAD28/2019) and Wajarri Yamatji #3 claim (WAD 32 of 2018) under s 66B of the (Cth). 3. Electing a Working Group for the overlap area. 4. Approving the amendment of the Wajarri Yamatji common law holder description to add the following as apical ancestors: a. Angelina (mother of Alice Darby) without qualification; and b. Topsy (mother of Mary Wheelock).

This will cause future Wajarri Yamatji determinations to include those apical ancestors in the list of Wajarri Yamatji apical ancestors. It also requires the amendment of the Wajarri Yamatji common law holder description in the Wajarri Yamatji Part A, B and C native title conditional determinations to add the above two apical ancestors, as well as Polly (mother of Paddy Donnelly), who was approved as a Wajarri Yamatji apical ancestor at the 4 May 2019 community meeting.

Day Two (Afternoon) and Day Three: For the proposed amended Wajarri Yamatji claim group including descendants of Angelina (mother of Alice Darby) and Topsy (mother of Mary Wheelock) if included:

5. Endorsing the decision to amend the Wajarri Yamatji common law holder description to add the following as apical ancestors (both for the existing and future determinations): a. Angelina (mother of Alice Darby) without qualification; and b. Topsy (mother of Mary Wheelock). 6. Consenting to the proposed Part D (Byro Plains) and Part E (Wajarri Yamatji #2 remainder) Determinations. 7. Consenting to the proposed Part F (overlap) Determination (subject to resolution of the overlap with Mullewa Wadjari). 8. Consenting to the WJY Pastoral ILUA. 9. Nominating the Wajarri Yamatji prescribed body corporate (PBC). 10. Endorsing Minangu Land Group recommendations. 11. Endorsing the Land Group Rulebook or Shortform Rulebook. 12. Appointing transitional directors for the PBC. 13. Electing Land Committee members (if the Land Group Rulebook is endorsed). 14. Electing the Elders’ Council. 15. Endorsing a benefits management structure. 16. Considering return of research materials. 17. Resolving any other matters required to enable finalisation of the Wajarri Yamatji claims or related to the Wajarri Yamatji prescribed body corporate.

Day 2 will include a presentation from Meenangu Wajarri Aboriginal Corporation (MWAC).

WHO MAY ATTEND THIS MEETING?

All members of the Wajarri Yamatji claim group are eligible to attend this meeting.

The descendants of Angelina (mother of Alice Darby) and Topsy (mother of Mary Wheelock) who are not already Wajarri Yamatji common law holders will only be entitled to attend this meeting if the current Wajarri Yamatji common law holders authorise this amendment.

The Wajarri Yamatji claim group means those persons who:

(a) are descended from one or more of the following ancestors:

For legal reasons, the claim group that is listed on the Wajarri Yamatji Form 1 filed in the Federal Court is entitled to participate in authorising a replacement applicant for the Wajarri Yamatji claim (WAD28/2019) under section 66B of the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth). IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ – ELIGIBILITY TO RECEIVE TRAVEL ALLOWANCE

1. Must be over 18 years of age. 2. To register, claim group members must attend a registration desk at the venue and sign the attendance register. 3. If a Driver, a valid Driver’s Licence must be sighted by YMAC staff when signing the Attendance Register (Driver Licence will not be sighted at a later date); Please note a Learner’s Permit is not considered a valid Driver’s Licence for the purpose of eligibility to receive travel allowance. 4. If a Driver your vehicle registration number needs to be provided when registering to receive a Driver’s travel allowance. 5. YMAC staff may require vehicle to be sighted. 6. Attendance Register must be signed on arrival during the registration period (7.00am –9.00am) Registration of attendance after this time will allow for your participation in the meeting, but not entitlement to a Travel allowance payment 7. Claimants will be required to sign out at the end of the meeting. Deductions from travel allowance for attendance for less than whole of a meeting can be from part or all of the accommodation allowance, incidentals & travel allowance – driver only (mileage). 8.
