    Wyoming State Senate Senators serve four-year terms in the upper house of the Wyoming legislature, without term limits. Stipends are $150 per day during the legislative session or for committee meetings—the stipend includes travel days. Per Diem expenses are allowed at maximum rate of $109, less when the meeting is in their community. There are three different Senate Districts in Albany County; SD 9 encompasses some of the county around Laramie. SD 10 includes another portion of Laramie and the rest of the county except a portion of western Albany County including the town of Rock River, which is part of SD 11 that includes Carbon County. Candidates are listed below grouped by district. Voters may call the Albany County Clerk at 307 721-2541 to request their district number, or find it on their “elections” web site. The Senator for SD 10, Glen Moniz (R) is not up for reelection this year. Voters only choose from the candidates for the District in which they live; candidates must live in the District also. No Republican filed for SD 9. What experience, qualifications and interests do you have that would encourage voters to select you for this office? Chris Rothfuss (D-SD 9): I have served in the WY Senate since 2011, including the past six years as Senate Minority Leader. I am a member of the Education Committee, the Minerals Business and Economic Development Committee and numerous other select committees and task forces. This map represents a point in time, at the beginning of Wyoming’s statehood, when the interior boundaries that shape Wyoming as we know it today were still a work in progress. I love examining old maps because they often tell the story of our human experience; each map being a snapshot of the knowledge or perceptions that we possessed at the time. Maps can also demonstrate advances in our industry and technology, trace the ebb and flow of our communities, and even reflect some of our social values. No chapter in Wyoming’s history has been faceless. All of our growth and progress has been through the combined efforts of Wyoming’s citizens and leaders, working together to address the needs of the moment. Wyoming’s past explorers drew new maps as their knowledge increased or as circumstances changed, and left behind progressively more accurate guides for us to follow.     WYOMING ASSOCIATION OF MUNICIPALITIES LEGISLATIVE UPDATE LEGLISLATIVE INTERIM UPDATE The purpose of this document is provide the WAM membership with an update on legislative activities since the 65th Wyoming Legislature adjourned on March 13, 2020. During the interim, the joint committees have been working. In addition to working on Covid issues, they developed a number of committee-sponsored bills. The Legislature’s Management Council met on November 24th to discuss the upcoming general session and to make committee assignments. The 66th General Session will convene on January 12 at noon. In addition to the interim Committee meetings, the Legislature held a special session on May 15th and 16th to consider distribution of the $1.25 billon the State received in CAREs funding. The Legislature based three bills that set forth broad guidelines for how these funds were to be used. These bills gave the Governor board powers and authority to disburse these funds. LEADERSHIP AND COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS Also, in November the legislature elected leadership and finalized committee assignments. The following are the proposed legislative leaders.
