This is the most gruesome one I've read so far. Also the ending I don't remember that being in the anime? I could just have a terrible memory, but if not then it's exciting to have new bits to read. Ready again for a restart. So creepy Oct 19, ReadingFrog rated it really liked it Shelves: horrormysterymanga. Once again, the final volume in an arc is worlds beyond the first volume. Oct 28, Shalor T. I'll admit it- while I love this series to pieces, this is my least favorite arc of the Higurashi series because it wrenches so many different emotions from me. I suppose that would be the mark of a truly great series, that it can do that to a person. This arc finishes the Curse Killing Arc, which means that there is only one Higurashi When They Cry: Curse Killing Arc v. 2 question arc left before the series starts supplying us with answers to our questions. When Keiichi starts questioning why the authorities haven't stepped in, he's less than pleased with their answers The artwork in this volume is beautiful. You can really see where all of Higurashi When They Cry: Curse Killing Arc v. 2 alternate stories are starting to crash into each other at this point. If you haven't read any of the previous stories, you need to. Not just because the series is that good, but because you need to know what happened previously in order to really understand what is going on. So far, so good with this series. Oct 01, Amanda rated it it was amazing. Probably the saddest and creepiest of the Question Arcs. Jun 04, Hadi Wijaya rated it it was amazing Shelves: novels. I feel terrified by this book. But it's totally bring me the excitement of psycho in one hand and its guilty in the other hand. The mystery totally seems like a curse, not human made. And the effect is bizarre. I can't wait to know the truth behind it in the answer arc. And the key message I learn from these three books I read is: don't judge book from the cover. The innocent cute person can be a murderer. The memorable quote is: I live because other persons around me decide not to kill me. And they I feel terrified by this book. And they live because I decide not to kill them. Jun 12, Logan Simpson rated it it Higurashi When They Cry: Curse Killing Arc v. 2 amazing Shelves: mangafavorites. Holy crap. This has to be the best volume yet! The ending sent chills down my spine. Jul 04, Joseph Young rated it liked it. Saddening arc, but one that starts to really link together the pain of the village, particularly focusing on Satoko this time. I'm not sure I understand what the keys are, but at this point it seems like view spoiler [ Keiichi has a choice in each, but makes the wrong one dooming everyone? This chapter wasn't as horrifying as we no longer feel at the whim of the curse, but an active participant in it. Jun 08, Hammaad rated it it was amazing. Absolutely mental. This series is completely unpredictable and loving it. Jan 04, Monika rated Higurashi When They Cry: Curse Killing Arc v. 2 liked it. I'll admit it - when I first saw the anime of this series, I actually copped out of seeing the ending Higurashi When They Cry: Curse Killing Arc v. 2 this arc because I read that it was the most disturbing of the question arcs. In terms of sheer gruesomeness, I actually think that title goes to the Cotton Drifting arc, with its answer arc taking the title for the series overall. This one is disturbing, but it's on a far more visceral and emotional level, and that aspect really makes me wish I had gone through with it during my first vie I'll admit it - when I first saw the anime of this series, I actually copped out of seeing the ending of this arc because I read that it was the most disturbing of Higurashi When They Cry: Curse Killing Arc v. 2 question arcs. This one is disturbing, but it's on a far more visceral and emotional level, and that aspect really makes me wish I had gone through with it during my first viewing, although the anime of it was subpar, and this arc got the worst part of the cutting room floor. OK, that said, this is a very good rendition of the final portion of the arc. Suzuki's style, which has trouble catching the more action-oriented scenes of Umineko, does wonders with the cerebral and emotional horror and suspicion that suffuses every scene of this arc. An excellent effort also went into the aforementioned scenes left on the cutting room floor for the anime. Everything flowed together into an ominous and confusing morass, and the very last scene surrounding a twist that I refuse to divulge here captured the tone almost perfectly, incredible, since that scene really should not be easy to render in manga form. A great read, overall. Dec 24, Luula rated it it was amazing Shelves: manga. This has to be the best arc so far. In my opinion. The story begins as normal. This arc focuses more on Satoko and her family life. We know from the other arcs that her family mother, father and aunt were Higurashi victims in the previous years. Her brother, Satoshi, had "transferred" before Keiichi arrived in town. This time, Satoko's uncle has returned to town. To put it simply, he's an abusive dick.
