The Future Rooks Bright: On 4/2 vs. Phoenix, Théo Maledon led all scorers as he went off for a career-high 33 points, five rebounds and three assists, shooting 10-of-18 from the floor, 5-of-7 from three-point range and 8-of-10 from the free throw line. Fellow rookie Aleksej Pokuševski shot 4-for-6 from three to log 20 points, five rebounds and a team-best four assists, making him and Maledon the first pair of teammates under 20 to each score 20+ in the same game in NBA history.

You Know What They Aleksej: On 4/18 at Toronto, Aleksej Pokuševski registered eight points, seven rebounds, five assists and an Oklahoma City rookie record six blocks (Ibaka had five in 2010), making him the first NBA rookie since LeBron James in 2004 to record 5+ points, 5+ rebounds, 5+ assists and 5+ blocks in a single game.

There’s Mo Where That Came From: On 3/27 vs. , Moses Brown poured in his fourth double-double of the season with a career-high 21- point and career-best 23- night against Boston on March 27. This not only gave him the second-fastest double-double (8:11) and the most rebounds before the break in Thunder history (19), but also made him the first NBA player since Shaquille O’Neal in 1998 with 17-plus points and 19-plus rebounds before halftime. He is just the sixth Thunder player and second OKC sophomore to produce a 20/20 game (Adams, Gilgeous-Alexander, Ibaka, Kanter, Westbrook).

Nice to Meet Youth: In the win over Houston on 3/21, the Thunder began the game with the youngest starting five in Thunder history with Moses Brown (21 years, 159 days), Luguentz Dort (21 years, 336 days), Théo Maledon (19 years, 282 days), Aleksej Pokuševski (19 years, 85 days) and Isaiah Roby (23 years, 46 days). With an average age of 21 years and 36 days, the 2020-21 Thunder produced the youngest starting five in NBA history to earn a win (only the 2016-17 Suns presented a younger starting five but did not earn a win). Then on 4/10 vs. Philadelphia, with starters Darius Bazley (20 years, 302 days), Brown, Dort, Maledon and Pokuševski, the OKC starters averaged 20 years, eight months and six days, the youngest such group in NBA history.

Need I Shai More: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander averaged 23.7 on 50.8 percent shooting after setting a new career high with 42 points on a career-best six three-pointers in the win over on 2/24. This makes him just the fourth third-year player in the last 20 years to average 22+ points on 50+ percent shooting, joining Amar’e Stoudemire (2004-05), (2005-06) and Anthony Davis (2014- 15), each of which were All-Star selections in those seasons. Gilgeous-Alexander leads the NBA in clutch points per possession (63.4) (min. 10 games). He stands as one of only four players in the Western Conference to average 20+ points and 5+ assists while shooting 50+ percent from the field and 35+ percent from three-point range (LeBron James, Nikola Jokić, ).

The Rest is History: Since New Year’s Eve the Thunder’s first season in OKC (12/31/08), the Thunder has earned a 60.2 win percentage, good for second-best in the league during that time. TEAM WIN LOSS GAMES PCT 653 339 992 .658 Oklahoma City Thunder 601 397 998 .602 575 406 981 .586

Sustaining Success: In the past decade, OKC has compiled the second-best record in the NBA (behind San Antonio). After the 2008-09 season in which Oklahoma City won 20 games after a 3-29 start, the Thunder found ways to improve the club each year and with a 60-22 record during the 2012-13 season, Oklahoma City became just the second team in NBA history (Boston, 1955-1960) to increase its winning percentage for five consecutive seasons (while maintaining a winning percentage of .700 or better in two of those seasons). Oklahoma City has now finished with a winning percentage of .610 (equivalent to 50 wins) seven times dating back to the 2009-10 season. Only San Antonio (eight seasons with .610 or better winning percentage) has reached that benchmark more during this period.

The only younger player in league history to hit five threes in a game was LeBron James in 2003.

Al-Time Great: In the win over Phoenix on 1/27, Al Horford scored his 12,000th-career point, making him one of seven active players with as many points and 1,000+ blocks, finishing with a double-double of a team-high-tying 21 points and a team-best 11 rebounds, shooting a perfect 5-of-5 from long range. The only Thunder player to log a better three-point shooting night was (6-6 3FG on 4/8/14).

Kenny Hustle: Through the first 20 games of the season, Kenrich Williams ranked as the fourth-best defensive rating in the league (98) while holding opposing players to the fifth-lowest shooting percentage (42.2) (min. 150 min. played).

Skip to my Lu: In the win over the Bulls on 1/15, Luguentz Dort set a career mark with six steals to go with his 21 points and eight rebounds, helping to generate 33 points off Chicago turnovers. and are the only Thunder players to grab more steals in a single game and the last player to swipe as many was in 2019. Additionally, Dort is just the third player in Thunder history to post at least 20 points, five rebounds and five steals in a single game before the age of 22 (Durant, Westbrook).

Moose on the Loose: In the win over Portland on 1/25, Mike Muscala drained a career-best six shots from beyond the arc and went 8-of-12 from the field to record 23 points, his highest scoring game in a Thunder jersey. He also hit his 300th-career three-point shot, making him the sixth player in his draft class with as many threes made and 150+ blocks.

Am(Baze)ing Performances: On 1/25 at Portland, Darius Bazley scored his 500th-career point, making him one of three sophomores this season to log as many points, 50+ three-point makes and 50+ blocks (Jaren Jackson Jr., P.J. ). Dating back to the start of the 2009-10 season, OKC has gone 327-148 (.688) at home, which stands as the second-best home record in the NBA during this span. Since the 2010-11 season, The Thunder earned 299 wins on home court, which stands as the second-most home wins in that time (San Antonio).

OKC is Fan Friendly: In its 12-year history, the Thunder has been consistently ranked at or near the top in the NBA when it comes to the fan and game experience, local TV ratings on Oklahoma, mobile app downloads, social media engagement and other metrics. For the start of the 2020-21 season, the Thunder has decided to not have fans inside Arena. The decision was made out of an abundance of caution and to protect fans and the community, considering the number of COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations in Oklahoma.

New Kids on the Block: Over the summer, Oklahoma City added some new faces to the roster, including five-time NBA All-Star Al Horford along with Moses Brown, Ty Jerome and Kenrich Williams as well as rookies Théo Maledon and Aleksej Pokuševski and two-way player Josh Hall.
