It would not be possible without the help of our many volunteers from the community and local organisations:- The Songs of Praise is on again and we would like to thank the Methodist- Church for organising it this year. Thanks also to Dave Clark for organising the 2nd of our non-field events - The Quiz - and to Neath RAFA for hosting it. The 3rd non-field event is the Choir Concert and we’re very grateful to the Neath Male Choir, as well as Ellie McGuire a for agreeing to perform for us this year. The City of Swansea Pipe Band is coming back this year to entertain us with a selection of Scottish, and Welsh, tunes. The pipe band was formed in 1971 by two Scotsmen and a Welshman, and today is made up of men and women from Scotland, England and Wales. They play at many different events all over Wales, all year round, from Newport to Milford Haven. The tartan they wear is the Mc Kenzie, used by the old Highland Light Infantry (HLI). Our members come from as far afield as Builth Wells, Trimsaran and Bridgend to our practice each Wednesday night from 7pm at CBSA, Stebonheath Terr, Stebonheath, Llanelli, SA15 1NE. Happily we have a good number of young people learning pipes and drums and are interested in anyone willing to learn. It is run by a group of 16 volunteer Trustee Directors. On behalf of the our community MCC holds the long-term lease for the Melin Advice Centre , which is home to a number of advice giving and sup- portive organisations such as Welfare Rights, C.A.B. and Read Easy. In addi- tion it is the base for the Melin Walkers. Simi- larly, MCC owns the Melin Technology Centre in Payne Street. Here there are drop in ses- sions to help you with all your I.T. needs as well as Job Clubs and classes designed to get people online and using computers with confi- dence, with help of our volunteers.
