Summary

Product Description 14-3-3 proteins are a family of conserved regulatory molecules that have the ability to bind to many functionally diverse signaling molecules including kinases, phosphatases and receptors. There are at least 7 isoforms of 14-3-3 proteins in mammals. The diversity of 14-3-3 interacting partners enables 14-3-3 proteins to impact a wide variety of cellular and physiological processes. For instance, 14-3-3 zeta binding to IRS1 suggests its role in regulating insulin sensitivity; activation of RAF1 and CDC25 by 14-3-3 beta suggests its function in mitogenic and cell cycle machinery regulation. 14-3-3 sigma has been shown to interact with PLK4, ERRFl1, MARK3 and JUB, while 14-3-3 tau is upregulated in Amyloid Lateral Sclerosis patients.
