This would also terminate the portion of the same 1% which is currently distributed to all Chambers of Commerce in Sussex County. The allocation to Chambers in Sussex is tied to stringent requirements with regard to marketing expenditures and recorded proof of return on investment. On Wednesday, May 31, 2017, the Rehoboth Beach Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce (RBDBCC) Legislative Representative, Mark Lally, as well as several of our tourism partners and Carol Everhart, met at Legislative Hall in the hope that there would be an opportunity to address the JFC. The operating procedure in place did not allow that opportunity. Below you will find a list of the current JFC members. We are seeking your assistance in personally contacting members of the JFC and/or your legislators by phone or in person to seek their support. We did not provide e-mails, as legislators are more receptive to personal contact. If 7 of the 12 member JFC vote in favor, the 1% could be placed back into the budget. The loss of this allocated revenue would, at a minimum, deplete or severely cut the marketing ability for Sussex Chambers, and in some cases, could put them out of business.

Organized Labor mobilized in Vincent Ascione a way that was unseen in Delaware for years and our elected officials noticed. Operating engineers #542 Second, the State of Delaware secured an agreement with Gulftainer to upgrade and operate the William Ashe I.L.A #1694 Port of Wilmington. This agreement means hundreds of millions of dollars of investment into the Jimmy Bradley Port as well as thousands of good paying, Union jobs, under a Project Labor Agreement. House Bill 140 (2015) Signed into law: July 1, 2015 House Senate May 14, 2015 June 30, 2015 FOR 25 15 AGAINST 16 6 History Transportation Funding A 2011 reporti from the legislatively-commissioned Transportation Trust Fund (TTF) Task Force found for the Fiscal Year 2010- excluding federal apportionment- the Transportation Trust Fund resources consisted of: Table 4 from the TTF Task Force 2011 Report 28% from Interstate 95 tolls and concessions ($119.4); 27% from the state’s 23 cents-per-gallon gas tax and 22 cents-per-gallon special fuels tax ($112.9); 14% from motor vehicle document fees ($58.4); 11% from State Route 1 toll revenue ($45.5); 11% from motor vehicle registration fees ($44.5); and 9% from miscellaneous pledged and non-pledged revenues, as well as investment earnings ($38.7). Need A 2015 analysis by the Road Information Programii, TRIP— a nonprofit organization that “researches, evaluates and distributes economic and technical data on surface transportation issues”—found: 21 percent of Delaware’s major urban roads ranked in poor condition; 20 percent of the state’s bridges are structurally deficient or functionally obsolete; 34 percent of Delaware’s major urban highways are considered congested; and Motor vehicle travel on the state’s highways increased 42 percent between 1990-2013. The TRIP analysis stated that poor roads cost Delaware drivers $256 million per year, or $355 annually per motorist.

We owe it to our shareowners, employees and customers to advocate public policies that will enable us to compete fairly and freely in the marketplace. Political contributions are one way we support the democratic electoral process and participate in the policy dialogue. Our employees have established political action committees at the federal level and in 18 states. These political action committees (PACs) allow employees to pool their resources to support candidates for office who generally support the public policies our employees advocate. This report lists all PAC contributions, corporate political contributions, support for ballot initiatives and independent expenditures made by Verizon and its affiliates during 2017. The contribution process is overseen by the Corporate Governance and Policy Committee of our Board of Directors, which receives a comprehensive report and briefing on these activities at least annually. She expressed an interest in hearing about the legislation, noting that the committees and councils on fishing and recreation could be political organizations. Senator Hocker explained that the Governor’s office, specifically Lydia Massey, had suggested the legislation’s proposed changes. Sen. Hocker noted that the adjustments would make the council’s bylaws more clear and update the code to reflect the current reality. He pointed to vague language regarding whether the President pro Tempore and Speaker of the House’s appointees were voting members, whether the President of the Delaware Mobile Surf Fisherman Association was an ex officio member, and where the appointing authorities rested.
