Congratulations to Fran Mildice on being named this year’s Woman of the Year from the Council of Catholic Women. Fran’s devotion and spirituality is evident in all of her ministry involvement. She is an active member of the CCW, on the Par- ish Council, a minister of care, a St. Vincent de Paul member, and so much more! Fran answers the call to service whenever she is needed. She has helped with the parish mailings, selling raffle tickets, and helping out at various events. She has very generously donated the New Gather books in memory of her loving husband Bill. We are so truly blessed to have such a loving and kind lady here at St. Andrews.

WEDNESDAY OF HOLY WEEK ~ MARCH 23 Tenebrae Service - 7:00 PM - Church

Tenebrae is a Latin word meaning shadows or darkness. It is the name of a special service celebrating the Passion, Death, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus. The mood of the service is somewhat somber, quiet, and reflective; its dramatic features are the gradual extinction of the seven candles as we meditate on the Lord’s journey through death to life. The loud noise, or strepitus, near the end of the service suggests the earthquake described in the passion narratives, when recounting for us the death our Savior.

HOLY THURSDAY ~ MARCH 24 Morning Prayer (English) - 8:00 A.M. - Church Mass of the Lord’s Supper (Trilingual) - 7:00 P.M. - Church

This liturgy commemorates the of Jesus with His disciples. It was at this meal that Christ instituted the Eucharist, Sacramental Priesthood and the mandatum, the call to service.

Tour of Seven Churches — after 7:00 P.M. Mass until Midnight

Join us on this night by adoring the Blessed Sacrament in our own chapel or visiting seven local churches and taking time in prayer at each of them and concluding with Night Prayer back at St. Andrew’s at midnight. Sign up is required.

GOOD FRIDAY ~ MARCH 25 Morning Prayer (English) - 8:00 A.M. - Church Liturgy of the Lord’s Passion / Veneration of the Cross (English) - 3:00 P.M. - Church

This Liturgy consists of the reading of the Passion of our Lord, prayer of petition, Veneration of the Cross and Communion. In a special way at this service, we venerate the Cross of Christ by whose death we have been saved. Siéte Palabras de Jesus Cristo (7 Last Words of Jesus) - (Spanish) - 4:30 P.M. - Hall Stations of the Cross (English) - 6:00 P.M. - Church Liturgia Meki Panskiej (Passion Liturgy-Polish) - 7:00 P.M. - Church Adoration 8:15 P.M. to 10:30 P.M. - Church

HOLY SATURDAY ~ SATURDAY, MARCH 26 Morning Prayer (English) - 8:00 A.M. - Church Basket Blessing (English) - 11:00 A.M. - Church Swiecenie Pokarmow (Basket Blessing in Polish) - 12:00 & 1:00 P.M. - Church

Bring your baskets to the church with a sampling of your foods for the Easter table to be blessed.

Easter Vigil (Multi-Lingual) - 7:30 P.M.

This Mass begins with the lighting of the Easter Fire and Paschal Candle, the Exultet (Easter Proclamation), Scripture readings detailing our Salvation history, Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and First Eucharist, and concludes with the Liturgy of the Eucharist.

There will be no Confessions and no 4:00 or 5:30 P.M. Masses on this day See page 4 for Easter Sunday Schedule Page Six JanuaryMarch 20, 3, 2016
