Alagna will return in Don José in Carmen on February 2nd. France will also be in the pit with Philippe Jordan, musical director of the Paris Opera. He will lead the Walkyrie on March 30, with Eva-Maria Westbroeck as Sieglinde, who will have sung a few months earlier the role of Minnie with Jonas Kaufmann in the Fanciulla del West on October 27, a less known opera by Puccini.     MAURO PETER … als einen Liederabend zum Träumen und eine makellose, facettenreiche Darbietung bezeichne- ten die Salzburger Nachrichten den Auftritt von Mauro Peter bei den Salzburger Festspielen 2019. Diese Faszination des Ausdrucks begeistert das Publikum seit seinem Aufsehen erregenden Debüt 2012 an der Schubertiade Schwarzenberg. Seither gastiert er auf allen Konzertpodien und Opern- bühnen Europas. Die Spielzeit 2020/21 eröffnet der Schweizer Tenor mit einem Liederabend am international re- nommierten Lucerne Festival. Seine Opernsaison beginnt Mauro Peter mit dem Rollendebüt als Nemorino in Donizettis L’elisir d’amore am Opernhaus Zürich. Dort ist er seit 2013 festes Ensemblemitglied und feierte grosse Erfolge, so zuletzt mit Zenders Winterreise und in der Titelrolle von Händels Belshazzar.
