Head Coach: Randy Mazey This Week in Baseball: : The Mountaineers return home for a five game homestand, beginning with a midweek series vs. Canisius at Monongalia County Ballpark ... the series begins on Tuesday, March 29 at 6:30 p.m. ET and concludes on Wednesday at 3 p.m. … Tuesday’s contest is a Dollar Night, where all tickets and select concession items are just $1.

WVU welcomes Big 12 foe Oklahoma State to Morgantown from April 1-3 ... Friday’s series opener, slated for a 6:30 p.m. ET first pitch, is a True Blue game, and all fans are encouraged to wear blue to cheer on the Mountaineers ... there will also be a postgame fireworks show. Saturday’s contest, which begins at 4 p.m., is Family Day ... fans can purchase four tickets and receive a $10 concession voucher for just $25 ... the series concludes on Sunday, April 3 at 1 p.m. … as part of the first Kids’ Day of the year, fans can get autographs from the Mountaineers and run the bases after the game.

Last Week in Baseball: West Virginia earned a two-game sweep at Kansas after a 5-4 loss at Penn State on March 22 ... the Big 12 series in Lawrence, Kansas, began with a 1-0 shutout win on March 25 before an 11-6 win on March 26. Sunday’s series finale was cancelled due to snow.

Notes: West Virginia improved to 12-8 on the year and 2-3 in Big 12 play with a two-game sweep at Kansas … it was WVU’s second sweep of the season … Saturday, Randy Mazey won his 100th game as WVU coach, becoming the fifth WVU head coach to reach the milestone … Mazey joins Ira Errett Rodgers (1921-42, 46), Steve Harrick (1948-67), Dale Ramsburgh (1968-94) and Greg Van Zant (1995-2012) with at least 100 wins with the Mountaineers … Mazey and Van Zant are the only two to accomplish the feat in their first four seasons at the helm … WVU’s 1-0 shutout of Kansas on Friday was its third of the season … junior Jackson Cramer extended his reached base streak to a team-high 40 games … Saturday, the leadoff batter reached for WVU in a total of six innings and WVU was never retired in order in any inning … senior Jeff Hardy earned his first career save on Saturday, pitching the final 3.2 innings and allowing just two hits with six strikeouts.

Coach Randy Mazey after his 100th win: “I didn’t have any idea, to be honest with you. When they doused me with the Gatorade, I thought they were mad at me, because I don’t keep up with stuff like that. I’m just proud of these guys, we’ve been through a little bit of a grind here, travel-wise and with a four game losing streak. We had every opportunity to be down on ourselves coming into the weekend and it took some veteran guys to lift us up.”

This Week in Gymnastics: The Mountaineers (11-8, 1-5) compete as the No. 5 seed at the NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional Championships on Saturday, April 2, inside Coleman Coliseum, at 5 p.m. EST … the meet will be broadcast on SEC Network+, and a link for the stream is available on WVUsports.com.

Notes: Host Alabama, ranked No. 4 nationally, earned the region’s top seed … No. 10-ranked California is seeded at No. 2, and No. 15 Boise State is the No. 3 seed … No. 21 Kentucky is seeded No. 4, and Bowling Green is seeded at No. 6 … WVU earned its 37th regional championships berth and 32nd in NCAA competition … this is the team’s first No. 5 seed since the 2013 NCAA Morgantown Regional … WVU is 1-2 against the field this year, defeating Bowling Green and falling to Alabama and Kentucky … the Mountaineers already competed at Coleman Coliseum this season, falling 197.375-195.25, to the Crimson Tide on Feb. 14 … the Mountaineers will open Saturday’s championship on the uneven bars … WVU’s full rotation order is: bars, beam, bye, floor, vault, bye … freshman Kirah Koshinski was named a NACGC/W Regular-Season All-America on March 25 … the Berwick, Pennsylvania, native was named to the vault second team … she is the sixth Mountaineer gymnast to earn an All-America honor, the first since 2007 and the first under fifth-year coach Jason Butts … the NACGC/W Regular-Season All-America honor was first awarded in 2013.

Head Coach: Miha Lisac This Week in Women’s Tennis: The Mountaineers are idle from competition this week … West Virginia returns to the courts on Friday, April 8 and Sunday, April 10, as the team plays host to Big 12 foes Kansas and Kansas State … Friday’s match is set to begin at 3 p.m., while Sunday’s contest is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. … both matches will be held at the Mountaineer Tennis Courts with weather permitting.

Last Week in Women’s Tennis: West Virginia (6-8, 0-3 Big 12) fell to Big 12 foe Iowa State (13-4, 1-2 Big 12) by a score of 4-2 on March 26, inside Ridgeview Racquet Club, in Morgantown … on court three, junior Kaja Mrgole and sophomore Lyn Yuen Choo made quick work of ISU’s Regina Espindola and Ana Gasparovic to claim the only doubles victory of the day by a score of 6-2 … with the win, Mrgole and Choo tallied their fifth consecutive victory at the No. 3 slot this season … sophomore Habiba Shaker cruised past ISU’s Samantha Budai in straight sets (6-0, 6-4) at the No. 1 slot to tie the match … with the victory, Shaker tallied her first win at the No. 1 slot this season … sophomore Lyn Yuen Choo also tallied a 6-2, 6-3 victory over ISU’s Regina Espindola on court four.

Notes: Sophomore Habiba Shaker leads the team in singles play with an overall record of 11-1, while sophomores Carolina Lewis and Lyn Yuen Choo and freshman Paula Goetz each own six singles wins apiece … the doubles tandem of senior Hailey Barrett and Shaker holds a team-best 7-3 mark at the No. 1 slot this season.

Coach Miha Lisac after the Iowa State match: “This week will be a good week for us to take a step back and work on the basics. We need time to reinforce some of the things that we usually work on during the offseason. We have this weekend off, so it is going to be a little bit different this week, and we will use this time to prepare for Kansas and Kansas State.”

Head Coach: Sean Cleary This Week in Track and Field: The Mountaineers will split to compete at the Texas Relays from March 30 - April 2, in Austin, Texas, as well as the Stanford Invitational on April 1, in Stanford, California.

Last Week in Track and Field: West Virginia was idle from competition last week.

Notes: The last time the Mountaineers competed at the Texas Relays was in 2012. ... WVU posted two top-seven finishes and a victory from former Mountaineer Chelsea Carrier-Eades in the heptathlon to qualify for the 2012 NCAA Outdoor Championships and the Olympic Trials.

Head Coach: Vic Riggs This Week in Swimming and Diving: The Mountaineers concluded the 2016 campaign last weekend at the NCAA Division I Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships.

Last Week in Swimming and Diving: Senior Andrew Marsh capped his career as a Mountaineer at the 2016 NCAA Division I Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships in , Georgia, competing in three events: 50 freestyle, 100 backstroke and 100 freestyle ... on Thursday, March 24, Marsh competed in the 50 freestyle, his first event of the weekend, where he placed 45th with a time of 20.18 ... his second event of the weekend came in the 100 backstroke, where he placed 17th overall with a time of 46.15, just .05 seconds shy of a top-16 finish and a spot in the finals ... Marsh’s third and final event was in the 100 freestyle, where he placed 39th in 43.64 to beat Minnesota’s swimmer by .02 seconds.

Coach Vic Riggs after NCAA Championships: “Andrew had a good week. I know he wanted to do better, but he’s a two-time NCAA qualifier, and he did a great job this season. He has a lot to be proud of, and he represented the Flying WV very well.”

Head Coach: Sean Covich This Week in Golf: West Virginia heads to a pair of tournaments this week … the Mountaineers start at the Mason Rudolph Championship at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tennessee, April 2-3 … No. 17 Alabama, No. 19 Florida, Middle Tennessee, UAB, SMU, Rice, Liberty, Ball State, Lamar, ETSU, Samford and Memphis will be in attendance at the tournament, which will be hosted by No. 10 Vanderbilt … Avery Schneider, Alan Cooke, Easton Renwick, Max Sear and Chris Williams will represent WVU … the squad will also compete at the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Mississippi, on April 4-5.

Last Week in Golf: The Mountaineers did not compete.

Notes: Five Mountaineers have shots rounds in the 60s in tournament play … Alan Cooke and Easton Renwick are tied for the low round of the season at 67 … Chris Williams leads the team in subpar holes … Max Sear leads the team in birdies (65) and subpar strokes per round (3.35) … Sear is also the team leader in stroke average at 73.25 across eight tournaments … Easton Renwick is close behind at 73.28 across seven tournaments.

This Week in Rowing: West Virginia is idle this week … the Mountaineers return to the water in two weeks for the Knecht Cup Regatta, held on April 9-10, in West Windsor Township, New Jersey.

Last Week in Rowing: West Virginia completed a series of races against North Carolina and Old Dominion on March 25, in Raleigh, North Carolina, on Lake Wheeler.

Notes: The Mountaineers won three races and tallied five runner-up finishes against the Monarchs andTar Heels on the 2,000-meter course … the morning races were highlighted by a first-place finish in the first novice four race … the novice four crew featured coxswain Kaitlin Sullivan, Amanda Garn, Kara Ehrenberger, Nicole Bender and Sarah Williams and crossed the line in 8:12.0 to cap off the morning series … in the afternoon session, the second varsity eight boat came out on top over two of North Carolina’s crews … the boat of coxswain Brittany James, Alisha Brownfield, Lillian Westerman, Janae Hurst, Carly Ledbetter, Grace Dever, Elizabeth Hooper, Jacqueline Spiropoulos and Abbigail Rees finished in first place with a time of 6:58.1, five seconds ahead of UNC … the novice four finished the day just how it began, with another first-place finish over Old Dominion and North Carolina … the crew of Sullivan, Garn, Ehrenberger, Bender and Williams crossed the line in 8:08.6, shedding four seconds off its morning race time.

Coach Jimmy King after the North Carolina Duals: “The Novice 4+ was our top performing crew of the day. They successfully applied the gains made during this week’s spring training camp into today’s competition, earning open water wins in two races. Now, we need to take that effort home to the Mon River and continue working on our speed.”
