Dear Community Member,

Gateway Area Scouting serves over 7,800 participants annually through Packs, Scout Troops, , Exploring, and (outreach programs), across nine counties of western Wisconsin and southeastern Minnesota. Scouting adventures reach youth ages 5-21. Your investment in Scouting teaches young people through:

 Character Development  Education  Outdoor Engagement  Leadership Opportunities  Community Service  Personal Fitness  Team Building  Skills Development  Fun Activities Cub Scout Pack 59 in Black River Falls has boys and girls participating from the Black River Falls, Merrillian, and Alma Center communities. Additionally, we provide character development programs at the Boys and Girls Club in Black River Falls (Lunda Center).

 We serve over 200 kids during the school year at the local Boys and Girls Club.

 Because of character skills learned “Beau is now a leader with a positive attitude and he is able to self-regulate his behavior.” - Allie M. (Black River Falls)

I ask that you consider a pledge of an amount that suits your budget, to change the life of a youth in our community. Your financial support helps to keep fees affordable and allows children from all backgrounds to have equal opportunities and new experiences. Scholarships help children to attend activities and summer camp at Camp Decorah. Camp Decorah is our council’s 330-acre, year-round facility for Scouting and community use. This tremendous resource is located on the Black River and has been serving youth since 1921. This rich tradition continues today for Scouts and outside groups. Over ninety percent of your investment directly helps us to provide the resources necessary to deliver the overall Scouting program within every community in our service area. Over 1,200 volunteer mentors connect with Scouts and families to create safe environments to gather, participate, have fun, provide service, and learn from their peers. The remainder of your gift is critical to communication and services including our Scout Service Center in La Crosse, Camp Decorah administration and council unit-serving professionals.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at your convenience. I have included a proposal form for your review.
