FACT SHEET 20-21 / 1 ACREDITATIONS & MEMBERSHIPS The MET is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, the first school in Panama and Central America to offer the full IB Continuum—the Primary Years Program, Middle Years Program and Diploma Program. The school is also accredited by the New Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and operates under a license granted by the Ministry of Education of Panama.

CURRICULUM The MET is an IB World School—a global standard for academic excellence. Top universities around the world favor IB graduates for its rigorous and balanced program, and its superior academic and social preparation. Beyond academics, the MET’s curriculum integrates visual and performing arts, competitive athletics, technology, Panamanian culture, physical and emotional wellbeing, and the development of values for global citizenship.

LANGUAGES While the main language of instruction is English, students learn Spanish as part of the curriculum. Qualified students can take optional classes in French, Dutch and Hebrew after school.

TECHNOLOGY Out integrated technology program provides students access to unlimited research material as well as dynamic and interactive educational content. Committed to 21st century education, the MET has a 1-to-1 technology program, deploying Apple technology throughout the school. Students in Kinder-4th grade are assigned iPads, and students in 5th through 12th grade are assigned MacBooks. Being part of the NAE family, learning is further enhanced by Global Campus, which connects over 64,000 students around the world. The MET campus has a media center fully equipped with a design center for graphic design, 3D modeling and printing, a Robotics center, and Makerspace—a collaborative space where students can design their own projects and bring ideas to life.
