2 Fundação 2018 ACTIVITY REPORT 3 ur purpose of contributing to social transformation in motivates us to empower people and communities. We act inspired by a dedication which transforms, fostering local development and offering the necessary support to people so they may tread new Opaths while building their future. Access to education, job opportunities and income will allow them to become independent and able to improve their own lives and communities. In 2018, R$ 2.4 million were allocated to social initiatives, benefiting over 103 thousand people. This year, our actions involving entrepreneurship prioritized training programs offered to microentrepreneurs living in the outlying communities aiming at improving their businesses. Based on that goal, we supported three Message from initiatives: The business school Empreende Aí), the Impact Business Accelerator in the Outlying Communities (Anip in Portuguese) and the project to be started in 2019 called Women Impact Entrepreneurs (Amei in Portuguese). The program Casas na Comunidade (Casas Bahia in the Community), which aims at local development through co-development initiatives involving commitment and stablishing networks according to the specific local community necessities, was kept in 2018 – impacting the lives of over 37 thousand people. Our volunteering actions also moved forward with initiatives such as Agente+, a 1-year old action, which counted on the participation of 8,090 volunteers, benefiting over 22 thousand people. Different programs were integrated, aligning community initiatives with volunteer work, engaging more employees from Via Varejo. The results achieved motive us to work even harder in 2019. Our permanent challenge is to contribute to the construction of a less unequal society, increasing the positive impacts of our ongoing projects to support even more people, offering them better conditions as citizens and members of a community.

ur principles aim at people’s well-being, fostering their businesses and strengthening their communities, contributing to the decrease of social inequalities and focusing on building a sustainable future, Oin which all may have opportunities and rights. We believe in people and in their capability to take charge of their own stories. In order to do that, we develop initiatives in outlying communities aiming at offering information and support so these people may become more organized and productive. We promote training programs for microentrepreneurs so they may strengthen their businesses, broadening the possibility of improving income generation and local production chains. We also support the involvement of social organizations and the dissemination of cultural expressions in the outlying communities, promoting local development and fostering their sense of pride concerning who they are and where they live.

n 2018, we started supporting the business accelerator calledAceleradora de Mulheres Empreendedoras de Impacto (Amei), a program targeted at female entrepreneurs from the outlying communities in São Paulo. The initiative is developed along withYunus Negócios Sociais, an accelerator and Iinvestor, and the business school Empreende Aí. The main goal is to place the outlying communities as protagonists regarding local social and economic development, boosting local talents.

The project was structured in 2018 to be held
