26 HUNTER REGION UNEMPLOYMENT MS to move— That this House: (1) Notes that the March 2015 unemployment data for the Hunter Region represents a disturbing negative trend. (2) Notes that unemployment in the Hunter has risen from 5.8 per cent in 2011 to 12.8 per cent in March 2015. (3) Notes that there are now a record 17,000 unemployed people across the Hunter. (4) Condemns the failure of the Government to positively act in support of existing jobs and the creation of new jobs in the Hunter.

27 NEW SOUTH WALES ECONOMY MR STEPHEN BROMHEAD to move— That this House: (1) Pays tribute to the Premier and the Treasurer for their hard work and discipline to repair and restore the New South Wales economy during the last four years. (2) Notes that it was the Coalition's cardinal promise to voters at the 2011 general election to make New South Wales number one again and, unlike the Opposition, the Government has delivered. (3) Recognises that in the CommSec "State Of The States" Report, released in April 2015, New South Wales was ranked the best-performing State economy, ahead of the Northern Territory ranked second. (4) Notes that the CommSec analysis compares quarterly performance between jurisdictions on a range of areas including economic growth, construction, retail trade, housing, unemployment and population. (5) Acknowledges that CommSec cited retail trade, population growth and dwelling approvals as key drivers of the State's economic growth and that in 2014 New South Wales overtook Western Australia, which had long held the top economic ranking in Australia.

34 LAKE MACQUARIE AIR POLLUTION MR to move— That this House: (1) Notes that new National Pollution Inventory data shows air pollution from New South Wales mines has doubled in the past five years and that coal-fired power stations and coal terminals also recorded increases in emissions. (2) Notes that the Lake Macquarie electorate has five operational mines, fallout from two coal-fired power stations and a coal preparation plant and its road and rail system carries hundreds of coal trucks and numerous coal trains every day. (3) Calls on the Minister for the Environment to allay residents' fears about pollution in southern and western Lake Macquarie and establish in the immediate area an independent ambient air pollution monitor, operated by the Environment Protection Authority, to provide reliable and more frequent data on air quality in the area.

35 LGBTI REFORMS MR to move— That this House: (1) Notes that significant progress has been made in reforms affecting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) people in New South Wales. 36 REGIONAL VISITOR ECONOMY FUND MR STEPHEN BROMHEAD to move— That this House: (1) Acknowledges that the Government has launched the 2015-16 Regional Visitor Economy Fund (RVEF), which is now taking applications from the Regional NSW tourism industry. (2) Recognises that the $7.2 million funds available for the 2015-16 RVEF is part of the $21.6 million record funding commitment announced by the Government in 2012. (3) Notes that local tourism operators are being encouraged by the Government to take advantage of the funds available to help drive tourism to beautiful regional New South Wales. (4) Commends the Myall Lakes electorate tourism industry, which is vital to the local economy. (5) Welcomes the tens of thousands of visitors every year who visit the Great Lakes and Manning areas attracted by the pristine environment and welcoming disposition of local residents. (6) Congratulates the Minister for Trade, Tourism and Major Events for encouraging regional tourism and applications for the RVEF.

37 HUNTER WATER PRIVATISATION MS to move— That this House: (1) Notes that Hunter Water in 2014 reversed its decision to outsource its customer call centre and brought the service back to Newcastle. (2) Notes this decision demonstrates that outsourcing and privatisation do not work and are not in the best interest of the local community. (3) Calls on the Minister for Lands and Water to categorically rule out any future privatisation of Hunter Water.

38 MOREE SHOW SOCIETY MR ADAM MARSHALL to move— That this House: (1) Congratulates the Moree Show Society for staging yet another outstanding annual show from 24 to 26 April 2015. (2) Notes the efforts of the Society to incorporate the Centenary of ANZAC into the show as a special commemoration of the Australian soldiers who have fought and died in the service of their country. 40 MYALL LAKES ELECTORATE CRIME RATES MR STEPHEN BROMHEAD to move— That this House: (1) Acknowledges that the latest Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research (BOCSAR) data paints a positive picture for the Myall Lakes electorate's fight against crime. (2) Notes that in line with state-wide trends, figures for most major crimes and offences in the electorate are stable or falling. (3) Notes there were no changes in the vast majority of offences committed in local towns and cities over the last two years to December 2014 and that figures for the most serious offences are stable and in some categories they are falling. resources, and strengthen police powers to combat crime, which the crime data reflects. (5) Acknowledges that the Manning-Great Lakes Local Area Command has had an increase in police strength of nine officers and that there will be another increase of seven police officers in May 2015. (6) Pays tribute to the dedicated police officers of the Manning⁄Great Lakes Command who have worked hard to deliver these overwhelmingly positive statistics, a testament to their efforts and success.

43 SOUTH COAST RAIL TIMETABLE MR RYAN PARK to move— That this House: (1) Notes the concerns expressed by thousands of Illawarra commuters about the current South Coast rail timetable. (2) Notes the current timetabling has caused parking congestion at Thirroul. (3) Notes that under the timetable there are reduced stops in the morning and afternoon peak at Austinmer and Woonona, both of which have modern commuter car parks. (4) Calls on the Government to make minor changes to the South Coast timetable to provide improved rail services for the Illawarra community.

44 SERVICE NSW CENTRES MR STEPHEN BROMHEAD to move— That this House: (1) Acknowledges that the Government is continuing to open new Service NSW centres in regional New South Wales. (2) Congratulates the Minister for Finance and Services for locating two of these centres in Taree and Forster as part of the next round of new service centres to be rolled out. (3) Notes that the opening of Service NSW one-stop shops will be a significant boost for residents in the Manning and Great Lakes areas. (4) Recognises that enabling residents to carry out multiple transactions in one place saves everyone time and money and is far more convenient. (5) Notes that Service NSW offers customers access to more than 800 government transactions including driver licences, vehicle registrations, seniors card applications, birth certificates, housing payments and other items. (6) Acknowledges that Service NSW service centres are a great initiative of the Government and that customers have truly embraced service centres.

45 JORDAN SPRINGS PUBLIC SCHOOL MS to move— That this House: (1) Notes that during the election campaign both parties undertook to construct the school and that construction should begin within the term of the 56th Parliament. 46 ARMIDALE POLICE CITIZENS YOUTH CLUB MR ADAM MARSHALL to move— That this House: (1) Congratulates and thanks Armidale Police Citizens Youth Club (PCYC) Manager Paul Salmon who, after four years in the role, left to manage the Tweed River club. (2) Notes the enormous contribution Paul made to the PCYC in those four years, introducing many different programs to successfully engage the youth of Armidale, boosting membership numbers and turning around the public perception of the club. (1) Recognises the importance of accessible public transport for physical mobility and social inclusion. 48 ANTI-LITTERING CAMPAIGN MR STEPHEN BROMHEAD to move— That this House: (1) Acknowledges that the next phase of the Government's "Hey Tosser!" anti-littering campaign has started with a series of television commercials, as well as images and slogans focusing on the public shame of being caught littering. (2) Supports the campaign as a vital step in reducing litter and its visual and environmental impacts. (3) Notes that in New South Wales cigarette butts are the most commonly littered item, making up 35 per cent of all litter, and that across Australia 7.2 billion cigarette butts are estimated to be littered each year. (4) Recognises that the campaign will complement other Government initiatives, including the plan to introduce a container deposit scheme, fines for littering from motor vehicles based on public reports, and grants to local councils and community groups to tackle litter in the period 2013-2017. (5) Notes the large impact littering can have on New South Wales waterways, especially in areas such as the Manning Valley and Great Lakes, makes such public awareness campaigns most important. (6) Commends the Minister for Environment on his stewardship and concern for the environment.

49 MCCAFFREY DRIVE ACCESS RAMPS MS SONIA HORNERY to move— That this House: (1) Notes that access ramps from McCaffrey Drive Rankin Park were omitted from plans developed in 2007 for Stage 5 of the Newcastle Inner City Bypass. (2) Notes that this omission will disadvantage local residents who will now be required to travel long distances on local roads to access the bypass. (3) Calls on the Minister for Roads to ensure that access ramps from McCaffrey Drive, Rankin Park are included in the concept plan currently being prepared.

(2) Notes the growing congestion within Morisset and calls on the Government to further plan for upgrades to MR 853 south through to the M1 interchange. (3) Calls on the Government to prioritise upgrades to approximately 2.3 kilometres of Main Road 853 from Glendale to Speers Point, which would provide dual lanes in each direction for the 10 kilometres between Thomas Street, Wallsend and Ren Street, Booragul.

(2) Calls on the Government to confirm that it is bound by the terms and spirit of the Commonwealth Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport Act. (3) Calls on the Minister for Disability Services to explain prioritising the upgrade of Waterfall station over Punchbowl, which has seven times the usage and a 43 per cent lower weekly median income. (4) Considers the prioritisation of Waterfall as discrimination against the disabled people of Lakemba. (5) Calls on the Minister to utilise the $316 million specifically allocated to Easy Access upgrades in the current budget to address the issues at Punchbowl station.
