This is the 8th edition of the Goldentyre Sardegna Rally Race, third round of the World Cross- Country Rally Championship 2016, a wonderful adventure in which we have focused all our best energies and our great passion. It will be a new episode of an experience that the Riders have shown to appreciate for its unique qualities. As every year we have tried to make the Goldentyre Sardegna Rally Race always better, from all points of view. The Goldentyre Sardegna Rally Race 2016 is largely unprecedented, with new Selective Sections, new places of departure and arrival of the stages, and an some greatest hits of the previous editions. A great privilege of the Goldentyre Sardegna Rally Race is to be set in an authentic paradise. C’est surtout une aventure merveilleuse, dans laquelle nous avons concentré toutes nos meilleures énergies et notre grande passion, et une expérience que les Pilotes ont su apprécier pour ses qualités uniques. La società ha lo scopo di organizzare grandi eventi sportivi e servizi di alto livello nel settore del fuoristrada. Sullo sfondo del progetto un Paradiso naturale: la Sardegna. Il primo evento organizzato da Bike Village è, nel 2004, un Supercross che attira ad Olbia i nomi più prestigiosi della specialità. Nascono quindi la Cavalcata del Sole ed il Sardegna Legend Rally, oggi rispettivamente alla decima e nona edizione, dedicate ad un pubblico amatoriale. Sono manifestazioni, uniche nel loro genere, che richiamano un gran numero di appassionati. Nel frattempo la struttura logistica di Bike Village cresce parallelamente al successo delle proprie manifestazioni, e l’escalation è rapidissima. Nel 2007 la Federazione Motociclistica Italiana sceglie la Società di San Teodoro per la realizzazione di una prova del Campionato Italiano Motorally, e l’anno successivo la Federazione Internazionale assegna a Bike Village la prova italiana del Campionato Mondiale Cross-Country Rally, mai sino ad allora disputato in Europa. Il Goldentyre Sardegna Rally Race diventa la prova Mondiale dei record e la sola a riunire tutti i più forti Campioni della disciplina. Bike Village diventa un riferimento nel panorama organizzativo dei grandi eventi internazionali, e progetta una Sei Giorni Internazionale di Enduro, da disputarsi in Sardegna, che verrà poi organizzata dalla FMI. E finalmente, questa è un’indiscrezione, a quindici anni dalla fondazione del sodalizio, Bike Village manterrà la promessa delle sue origini e diventerà la Città delle Due Ruote, e non solo questo, a San Teodoro! Bike Village Bike Village was founded in 2001 by Gian Renzo Bazzu and Antonello Chiara, in San Teodoro. Its business is to organize very large sporting events and very high level services in Off-Road area. The backside is the wonderful landscape of the Sardinia : a natural paradise. The first important event organized by Bike Village was in 2004, a Supercross which draws the most famous names of this discipline in Olbia. Then were born the Cavalcata del Sole and the Sardegna Legend Rally, both for amateur side of bikers, today at their respective 10th and 9th editions.

Team riders for Monster Energy Honda Team, Honda’ s factory team, rode their CRF450 RALLY bikes to six stage wins out of twelve, of which Ricky Brabec won two. From Stage 3 onwards, Brabec defended his race lead to take the overall victory. Brabec, on his fifth Dakar, became the first American rider to win the event, and gave Honda its first overall win in 31 years. Honda first competed in the third Paris-Dakar Rally in 1981. Its first victory came in 1986 on an NXR750, which was followed by three consecutive wins up to 1989. Honda left the Dakar the following year, and in 2013, decided to race once again in the Dakar Rally, then held in South America, with its new CRF450 RALLY factory bike. Despite finishing runner-up in 2015 and 2018, victory had eluded Honda until this year, the 8th attempt after returning to the Dakar in 2013. La “Dakar”, la “gara-avventura” per eccellenza, dopo una combattuta e spet - tacolare edizione 2018, torna in Sud America, ma stavolta si correrà solo tra le sabbie e le dune del Perù. E per la prima volta nella storia di questa competizione motoristica tutto il percorso rimarrà circoscritto ai confini di un singolo Paese. Sono stati ufficializzati recentemente a Lima i numeri del celebre rally-raid che avrà inizio il 6 gennaio, con partenza dalla capitale peruviana per concludersi dopo 10 giorni e 5.500 chilometri (dei quali 3.000 di prove speciali) nella stessa città. Gli equipaggi che si sfideranno sono 334: 167 fra moto e quad, 126 auto e 41 camion. Si ripete il fascino della sfida epica, della lotta contro il tempo e contro le difficoltà messe in campo dalla natura: per tutti i partecipanti, una prova con sé stessi, un’avventura seducente, speciale e magica ma non priva di rischi e pericoli, a volte forse anche troppo alti. La Dakar 2019 prevede una serie di tratti difficili e ostacoli che potrebbero davvero rendere memorabile la gara, un percorso che Etienne Lavigne, il direttore di gara, ha definito “ difficile, tecnico e logorante dal punto di vista fisico: i chilometri si faranno sentire, sembreranno molti di più, anche il doppio o il triplo ”. Le Paris-Dakar s’ouvre sur un monde inconnu, dans lequel son créateur, Thierry Sabine, apparaît comme un véritable pionnier. Son credo sera alors : « Un défi pour ceux qui partent. Du rêve pour ceux qui restent. » L’Afrique, continent aux multiples facettes, propose en effet cet élixir parfait mélangeant rêve et compétition.
