Hall Earns SEC Freshman of the Week vs. Auburn LAST WEEK IN THE SEC • LSU freshman Lloimincia Hall was named SEC Freshman of the Week after scoring a 39.200 and winning the all-around against Auburn. She also shared the floor title with Rheagan Courville as both tallied a 9.90. Saturday, April 7 • Hall’s 39.200 all-around total was the highest total last week by a freshman in the SEC, and it is the highest score for an NCAA Seattle Regional LSU gymnast since Sarie Morrison earned a 39.575 on Feb. 18, 2011 against Georgia. 1. Alabama - 197.025 2. LSU - 196.075 Record for Rheagan • No freshman in the history of LSU gymnastics has scored a 39.175 in the all-around in her first meet as a Tiger until Auburn Regional Rheagan Courville accomplished that feat in the Cancun Classic. The previous best was a 38.700 by former great April 1. Georgia - 197.100 Burkholder in 2003. 4. Auburn - 196.100 LSU Takes Fifth in Cancun Classic • LSU started strong at the Cancun Classic with a 49.200 on vault and struggled after the bye before bars with a 47.975 on Champaign Regional bars and a 46.525 on beam. The Tigers rallied for a 48.800 on floor and settled for a 192.500 total, the lowest team score 5. Kentucky - 194.750 since 1998. • Despite the team struggles, freshman Rheagan Courville put together a solid meet with freshman season-opening record Fayetteville Regional 39.175 in the all-around, highlighted by a 9.875 on vault and a 9.825 on bars. 2. Arkansas - 196.825 • Freshman Lloimincia Hall posted a 9.90 on vault, her first event at LSU. It was the first and only 9.90 of the meet for the Tigers, and it was good enough for second place in the event. Raleigh Regional 1. Florida - 197.325 D-D Breaux Enters Year 35 as Head Coach • LSU gymnastics is going into its 38th year of existence, and D-D Breaux has only missed the first three seasons as she enters her 35th year as head of the program. Breaux holds a career record of 599-379-8 in 34-plus seasons, winning 61 percent of the time. • In her time as coach, LSU has produced 106 NCAA All-Americans, 106 NACGC/W Scholastic All-Americans, 47 All- Southeastern Conference selections, 144 SEC Academic Honor Roll members, eight NCAA individual national champions, 28 AIAW or NCAA Championships appearances and two NCAA Super Six appearances. Opening on the Road • This is the third time in the last five seasons that LSU will open up the season at the Cancun Classic and the fourth time in the last five years that the Tigers will begin the year away from Baton Rouge. • The only season in the last five in which LSU opened at home was 2010 when the Tigers hosted Maryland. • LSU has won three of the last five season openers, taking the Cancun Classic titles in 2008 and 2009 and beating Maryland in 2010. The Tigers lost at Oregon State last season 195.400-193.350 and finished in 5th in Cancun in 2012. Returning All-Americans • LSU returns two All-Americans in 2012. Senior Ashley Lee picked up First-Team All-America honors on vault in 2010 while THIS WEEK IN THE SEC sophomore Kaleigh Dickson earned Second-Team All-America recognition in the all-around. Dickson’s All-America honor was the 106th in LSU history as she became LSU’s 10th All-American in the all-around dating back to 1986.
