7th ANNUAL ALUMNI GOLF TOURNEY May 6th at Poplar Creek

Closest to the Pin - Eric Houts ‘67 This year’s Alumni Golf Tournament was held at San Mateo’s Poplar Creek Muni L-R, Bob Liedtke, Jack Barton, Rick Mahlstedt on Friday May 6th. BHS Alumni spanning 1957- 2014 played a scramble format. The weather was light drizzle but that didn’t stop the alumni from enjoying another fun round of golf.

Alumni of all experience levels assaulted the links at Poplar Creek. Everyone enjoyed a great experience with low pressure and laughter & stories to last another year. We all survived Derek Barton’s Pabst Blue Ribbon pants, which L-R, Matt Hesselgren, Tosoni Lovulu, Rick DeGaetano, were a welcome change from the fiery Tim Hesselgren L-R, Pete Fena, Kevin Cullen, Dave Steil, Rusty orange and black he wore last year. Please contact me as we usually plan on 48 players. But something tells me this year may bring more. We’ll need 80 to go for a shotgun start, which would be the goal. BHS Alumni spanning 1957- 2014 came to play and re-connect with past teammates and classmates.

In a throwback nod to our youthful days, the event was of course (age appropriate) “Over-the-line” as the players are getting to old to round the Bill Nagle & Roger Graham survive the bases. But as everyone attested, this round Brothers, Bernie and Gary Heckenkemper format suited everyone perfectly and all had a “ball”

Come on out and “PLAY BALL!” Players of all experience levels are welcome and are promised a great experience. The old timers game is low key, low pressure and virtually a glorified softball game. But what other event allows you to a hardball on the diamond and run 90’ bases. Everyone has a great time and enjoys the camaraderie and friendships re- Rusty and Dianne Knudsen. Please contact me with your intent to play. We’re looking to hold two games this year again.
