PARISH EVENTS R EVENTOS PARROQUIALES DdžǂǓ PǂǓNJǔljNJǐǏdžǓǔ As we celebrate the Season of Advent, the liturgy invites us to prepare for our final encounter with the Lord at the end of our lives and at the end of times. As we participate in works of charity and justice, we actively respond to this invitation of the liturgy. We sew seeds of love aware that these seeds have the potential of giving fruit in eternal life; the gospel indicates that the Lord will take this into account at our final judgment (Mt 25: 3146); he tells us that what we did to the least of His we did to Him. Furthermore, charity has the potential of making us more free from the many material possessions that we share. Charity reminds us that our destination is beyond the material world we will in. When we give, we are free from the things that we have. We are free for God. On that note, I would like to offer a special note of gratitude and recognition to our Saint Vincent De Paul Society for exercising the works of charity and justice in representation of the San Antonio de Padua Community and in the name of the Lord. This past Thanksgiving our parish was able to distribute 74 turkeys and other food items to families in our community. We are grateful for the collaboration of Helen of Troy, San Pedro de Jesus Church, and several parishioners who joined Saint Vincent de Paul in this effort and donated several of the turkeys that our parish distributed. We pray for the families that received these gifts, that the Lord may bless them abundantly with material and spiritual graces. May those who actively took part in this effort also receive special graces from our Lord in eternity. Blessed Advent, Fr. Mariano QǖNJdžǓDžǐǔ FdžǍNJLjǓdžǔdžǔ Al celebrar la Temporada de Adviento, la liturgia nos invita a prepararnos para nuestro encuentro final con el Señor al final de nuestras vidas y al final de los tiempos. Al participar en obras de caridad y justicia, activamente respondemos a este llamado de la liturgia. Sembramos semillas de amor conscientes de que estas tienen el potencial de dar fruto en la vida eterna; el evangelio nos indica que el Senor tomara esto en cuenta en nuestro juicio final (Mt 25:3146); nos dice que lo que hicimos con los más pequeños Suyos lo hicimos con Él. Mas aún, la caridad tiene el potencial de hacernos mas libre de las posesiones materiales que compartimos. La caridad nos recuerda que nuestro destino va mas allá del mundo material en el que vivimos. Cuando compartimos, somos libres de las cosas que tenemos. Somos libres para Dios. En referencia al tema, quiero agradecer y reconocer a nuestra Sociedad de San Vicente de Paul por ejercer las obras de caridad y justicia en representación de la Comunidad de San Antonio de Padua y en el nombre del Señor. Este pasado Día de Acción de Gracias nuestra parroquia pudo distribuir 74 pavos y otros alimentos a familias de nuestra comunidad. Estamos agradecidos por la colaboración de Helen of Troy, la Parroquia de San Pedro de Jesús, y varios feligreses que se unieron a San Vicente de Paul en este esfuerzo y donaron varios de los pavos que nuestra parroquia distribuyó. Oremos por las familias que recibieron estos regalos, para que el Señor los bendiga en abundancia espiritualmente y materialmente. Que aquellos que activamente formaron parte de este esfuerzo también reciban abundantes gracias de nuestro Señor en la eternidad. Bendiciones este Adviento, P.
