In 1921, Mr. F.W. Allison resided there. By mid 1900’s Ray McDonald’s parents owned the home with surrounding land under market garden and almond trees. In the 1960’s, new brick homes (2) were built closer to the Langhorne Creek. Rd., one directly across from the loft for the parents and another for Ray and wife, Claire close to the River bank (road-side])towards Strath. Ref. Page 37 “They Built Strathalbyn” by H. An 1880’s stone home and a 1970’s brick home are close together between Bremer South Rd. and the bank of the River Bremer, Hartley. An avenue of tall gums line the approach to Avenue Farm. Remainder of Sect. owned by John Cheriton (1870). James and Sarah Aworth and descendents lived there for nearly 100 years. Family of labourers. Both cottages still standing until early 1960’s. Ref. Cottage still stands but not in use. On a closed road and opposite side of Angas River to the Brickyard House, No thru Westlake Rd.
