MOUNTAINEERS IN THE NFL • Three former Mountaineers are currently on 53-man NFL rosters:

• LB Jason Hunter signed with the Denver Broncos on Aug. 20 after spending a year with the Detroit Lions. Last season, he ranked sec- ond on the Lions with five sacks while making nine starts at defensive end. An undrafted free agent, Hunter is in his fifth season in the NFL (three with Green Bay, one with Detroit). Despite having to make the late move from defensive end to linebacker in Denver’s 3-4 scheme, Hunter has started 3-of-4 games for the Broncos this season. He has 13 tackles in four games.

• DB Corey Lynch is in his second year with the and third year in the NFL. He spent one season with the Cincin- nati Bengals after the club selected him in the sixth round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He has one tackle in three games this season for the Bucs, playing primarily on special teams.

• Last but certainly not least, WR Armanti Edwards is in his first season with the Caro- lina Panthers. The Panthers traded a second- round pick in the 2011 Draft to move up to se- lect Edwards in the third round this past April. The Panthers moved the record-breaking quarterback to wide receiver and also plan to utilize Edwards’ game-breaking skills on punt returns.

• WR Dexter Jackson was released by the Panthers in training camp and LB Marques Murrell was let go by the New England Patri- ots following the Sept. 12 season opener.
