Overall Developmental Approach: Thank you indeed for all your information sent with the entry form and for the map which was most useful on adjudication day. It is indeed gratifying to read that you continue to have the support of your Parish Council, ICA, Youth Club, your School and FAS. The lovely presentation in Poulpeasty this year very much reflects a concerted community effort and all concerned are to be congratulated. However you are referred back to the comments made in last years report regarding the production of a simple plan, drawn up in conjunction with your partners, and listing what projects you might undertake for the next 2/3 years under each heading in the competition which will bring you additional marks. You have been doing very well to date and do try to keep up the momentum.

The Built Environment: You plans for painting and for the Hall have been noted and the adjudicator looks forward to seeing the results of this next year. The Church and School are being very well maintained and reflect great credit on those involved. The Monument is a very nice feature and its surroundings have improved on last year. Landscaping: This is undoubtedly a major factor in your Tidy Towns effort and was much admired throughout the village. Landscaping on the approach road from looked lovely as did the areas of the School grounds, the Church grounds, the side road and the area of the Green in front of the Hall. The white bollard and chain fence was much admired and lovely work has been done in the planting of flowers and shrubs right throughout the whole village which creates a lovely atmosphere. In any future planning do consider the planting of trees and shrubs which will give you some colour on an all year around basis and which, in the event, are easily maintained.

Wildlife and Natural Amenities: Do continue to give further attention to possible projects under this heading. Your village is small and, in the circumstances, the School grounds and possibly the cemetery for nesting boxes and, as appropriate perhaps a wildlife board showing what species can be seen locally and which would be of interest to residents and visitors alike. The Green area in front of the Hall would be another suitable site.

Litter Control: Poulpeasty was again litter free on adjudication. Well done to all concerned.

Tidiness: The village is very neat and tidy and great credit is due to your residents for this.

Residential Areas: Houses are being well maintained and the gardens looked lovely and added greatly to the overall appearance and atmosphere which prevails throughout the village. This type of individual effort is very important for a small centre. You cannot succeed in the competition without it. Many lovely gardens were much admired and reflect great credit on their owners.

Roads, Streets and Back Areas: Approach roads were very nicely presented with evidence of open spaces having been mown and verges being strimmed. You have a very good road surface throughout the village and your car parking areas are very neat and tidy.

General Impression: Lovely work has been done in Poulpeasty and is reflected in your marks. Continue to maintain what you already have to a very high level and give some thought to further activities under the various headings of the competition. The adjudicator looks forward to returning to Poulpeasty again next year to see further progress made.

Second Round Adjudication: The verges on the Road had been well trimmed while those on the Road, although cut, looked a little raw in comparison. The lane linking the two parts of the village was generally fine but the shrubbery in places was weedy. The yield sign here was in need of attention. The Church and grounds were very neat. Similarly the school was admired together with the landscaping in front of the house adjoining and the very neat verge opposite. Indeed the houses generally were exceptional. The hall surrounds were surprisingly weedy, contrasting greatly with the beautiful gardens in the vicinity.
