Organized by the NSS Unit, Ramkrishna Mahato Government Engineering College (Erstwhile, Purulia Government Engineering College, Estd. 2016) and in REPORT OF THE collaboration with the BLOOD Doctors of Deben Mahato Sadar Hospital, Purulia DONATION Held on CAMP 21st November 2019 With a brief introduction Acknowledgement The NSS Unit of RKMGEC owes much debt to the Office of the Principal and the Registrar’s Office for their relentless assistance and to the Principal of RKMGEC in particular, who had constantly encouraged us and gave his valuable insights in organizing the Blood Donation Camp as the maiden activity of the NSS Unit. The NSS Unit feels obliged to acknowledge the Vendors who supplies regular commodities to the Hostels of RKMGEC for supporting and sponsoring the whole event of BDC with their splendid gesture of generosity. The NSS Unit of RKMGEC also owes much to the senior faculties for their constant support and guidance and to the faculty members of the whole RKMGEC for their constant cheer and encouragement. And lastly, the beloved students, who have been the central part of all these activities, and their voluntary involvement either through their organizing skill or by active participation into the BDC, which made it a grand success really demands our indebtedness to them. Without these the event could not have been successful in its maiden endeavour, is in fact beyond any reservation. 1 Prof. Bibek Chakrabarti Principal, RKMGEC Mr. Santigopal Maity, Asst. The NSS Unit of RKMGEC, found this opportunity as a privilege to open its chapter into its journey ahead in service to the Nation, amidst its major regular academic activities, as envisaged into the Motto of NSS, “"Not Me But You", which reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for self-less service. Keeping the grand philosophy of the NSS upfront, in this motto, which underlines on the belief that the welfare of an individual is ultimately dependent on the welfare of the society as a whole and therefore, the NSS volunteers shall strive for the well-being of the society. The tagline for the BDC was, “You don’t have to be a doctor to save lives, just donate blood.” To this, a BDC organising committee was initiated under the guidance of the NSS Unit, comprising 10 volunteers, of which 8 are chosen from among the registered students and 2 were from the Office of the Registrar, RKMGEC.
