The Q4 2011 RICS Construction Market Survey showed total workloads at the national -10

level fell a little further, with the net balance declining from -1 to -7. Private commercial -20 building remains the only area not recording falling workloads at this point in time, with a net balance of +2. The results show a high level of scepticism among respondents as to what, if any success such initiatives will achieve. 0 The first question focused on ‘The Get Britain Building Fund’. The £420 million fund is expected by the government, over the next two years, to unlock 16,000 homes on sites -10 that are currently stalled for lack of finance and create 30k jobs. However, the majority of respondents were unimpressed with this initiative, with only 27% of surveyors expecting it to have a positive impact on workloads. -20
