Planning Framework Intent of the District Alignment Plan
The San Bernardino Community College District The DAP will provide guidance and support for the (SBCCD) Alignment Plan (DAP) is a comprehensive District’s emerging strategic initiatives and serve as a document that establishes a clear direction for the foundation for other District planning activities. College by envisioning the future of academics and student support under changing internal and external conditions. Quantitative and qualitative data indicators are analyzed to rationally guide the planning process. Additionally, the DAP is directed by core values and goals within other College and District-wide plans as well as the San Bernardino Valley College, Crafton Hills College, and San Bernardino Community College District Strategic Plans.
While the District Alignment Plan is intended to provide a direction of the SBCCD over the next five years (2016-21), it is not a rigid script with little deviation. This document helps to determine the institution’s current level of effectiveness and produces key goals to evoke action and dialogue as the District embraces the future. A District Alignment Plan is a living document that should be reviewed and updated regularly. Thus, this document is an evolving description of the District’s needs and, although past performance data can greatly inform future growth, emerging regional issues, as well as unforeseen events, can alter a community’s path.
