I do love dogs. At first I applauded Mr. Hammered was a little disappointing, it just didn't hold my interest as strongly as the first two. The first two books of this series were interesting, but didn't make me enthusiastic to read more. Lots of life forms died and there was some serious fighting going on. Oberon has become such an important character in the series that his absence was like a gaping hole. But now I see what's really been going on all this time! He lives and owns a bookstore in , the kind likely to be filled with books on Wicca, as much as Buddhism, with a side business of an apocathary where he blends teas for his customers. In that case, we can't Maybe I need to take a druid break I came across this 3-in-1 novel and thought 'what the heck'. I can only wonder who, or what, we'll meet next in Book 4. NOOK Book. Or rather, it doesn't seem like it should've been able to sustain itself for the several thousand years it's been around. There were parts of the book that simply made me laugh. And gravy! Of course others are going to feel left out. If you have read the books, as I mentioned above I highly recommend listening to the audio book. I wish that Oberon would have been around for more of the fun but that is just because he is my favorite character. I loved books 1 and 2 and was looking forward to this one. Luke Daniels did a fantastic job with the narration making this a very easy book to listen to for long periods of time. The earlier books, Hounded and Hexed , though connected, also worked as stand alones, something that I was very excited about and that I lauded Hearne for creating. That's why I didn't care so much for the first two books, and that trend continues with the third. The Frost giants? We lost most of Oberon's humor this time, and that's a big laugh hit. I am extremely impressed with his comedic timing for it was spot on. Instead, he has been drawn into a revenge plot that he actually has no stake in besides keeping his word. But something was missing in this book. These Iron Druid books provide the perfect blend of light-hearted fun, and some dark and serious moments. Unfollow podcast failed. Atticus is charming and funny and is always getting into trouble on a cosmic scale. I'll keep listening as long as Kevin Hearne keeps writing. Of course others are going to feel left out. Luke Daniels is a great fit for the series and it's no fault of his that I didn't enjoy this book. I might have OD'd on druids.. I don't quite know what to think of his inclusion in the pantheon. It focuses mainly on the world and religion of the Druids and the Fae from where their magic comes from. The way I figure it, Ratatosk has to be an utter badass. However, it means breaking his tenuous social obligations to his apprentice, his employees and business, and to his friend, Mrs. As with all of Kevin's books, there is some great action scenes, Humor with our favorite hound, descriptive and imaginative locations and plenty of mythology thrown into the mix.
