Leanne Cusumano Roque Resume Engaging, alignment based yoga teacher leads students through full body practices that can be replicated at home. Special focus on making poses accessible to all body types and adapting poses based on student needs.

• Highlights o Teach weekly classes. Last Fall the class was an 11-week session, in which I taught a progressive Yoga I teaching syllabus, teaching new poses each week and culminating with a full body practice that can be done at home. During the Winter session I focused on core and arm strength, moving toward doing Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutations) safely since people get exposed to sun salutations in so many yoga classes, and prep (and as appropriate for my students, actual) (shoulder stand). In the Spring I focused on teaching arm balances and inversions. o Have more than 400 class / workshop / privates hours with Iyengar teachers and continue to take weekly Iyengar classes. I have also completed other workshop and class hours with yoga teachers in other yoga traditions. o Organized and was part of Intro. I teacher training, a group of 9 of us, taught by Juliana Fair, an Intermediate Senior I teacher. We meet in person once a month for 4-5 hours, and also do a 1-hour monthly telecon, led by a member of the group. o Do a monthly private with Juliana Fair in which we work on my practice and discuss my teaching plans for classes I teach. o Continue to study and practice daily on my own, using the study guide I developed for Intro. I (see http://shinelikethesun.com/training/introductory-1-iyengar-yoga- assessment-study-guide/) (Intro. II study guide coming soon) and other materials. o Obtained certification as Relax and Renew Trainer® (). ∗ Practice experience o 2009 – present: Student at Unity Woods, currently with Juliana Fair, Intermediate Senior I Iyengar Yoga Teacher.
