HUSKIE ATHLETICS DONOR GUIDE THANK YOU! Thank you for your passion. Thank you for your commitment. But most importantly, thank you for your support and generosity.

Huskie Athletics has been one of the most consistently successful athletic departments in the country, and this would not be possible without the support and generosity of our donors.

But it is not only athletic success that you are supporting. Between practices, games and training on top of being full- time students, Huskie athletes often do not have time for part-time jobs. Having financial support gives these students the opportunity to focus on their school work, their training and community service so they can become the best people they can be.

Supporting our Huskie student-athletes means supporting the process that puts these young men and women on a path to success for the rest of their lives, no matter which path they take.

Thank you again for your consideration and generosity. Your support and contributions are essential to our success and are greatly appreciated! HUSKIE ATHLETICS’ MISSION IS TO ENABLE THE PURSUIT OF ACADEMIC AND ATHLETIC GREATNESS. OUR VISION IS TO BE #1…

One teammate in particular was Joanne McTaggart. She was a great teammate and went on to coach the Huskie Track Team. I thought it was only appropriate that she be honoured with a scholarship in her name. I am hoping that the Joanne McTaggart Scholarship will provide incentive for people to pursue their track aspirations, and get an education. My mom said to me, “get an education—it will set you free.” Louis Tapper, part of the record setting 4X 125m Huskie Track Team Donor to Joanne McTaggart Endowment Awards in Huskie

“It means a great deal to me to be able to participate in such a high-level experience both on and off the field at USask. I am extremely thankful for all of the support that I receive through organizations and individuals.” Claire Stillwell, Second-year student in the of Arts and Science Member of the Huskie women’s soccer team

“Thank you for your generous donations. Without people like you, programs like these are not successful.” JT Robinson, Fourth-year student in the College of Arts and Science Member of the Huskie basketball team

“The best schools in the country compete for the best students and the best athletes. These young men and women are becoming the leaders of tomorrow, many of whom may not have chosen the University of Saskatchewan and our community without your generous scholarship support.” Daniel Olver, Huskie wrestling coach SCHOLARSHIPS

One of the goals at the University of Saskatchewan is to provide our student-athletes with the best experience in the country, and we accomplish this goal through the Huskie Annual Scholarship Fund. Your donation to the Huskie Annual Scholarship Fund directly supports USask student-athletes and the funds raised help cover the cost of rising expenses like tuition and fees.

To ensure continued success for our student-athletes, it is vital to increase scholarships, and we can do so by encouraging individuals who share our commitment, passion and vision for the Huskie Annual Scholarship Fund.

You have the opportunity to direct your gift to Huskie Athletics to the area of your choice:

• Annual fund • Endowment • Planned giving • Sport specific • Operations ENDOWMENTS

Endowments provide a way for Huskie Athletics to ensure long-term success by making sure there will be sufficient income to support our student-athletes long into the future. This endowment program supports scholarships and is one of the most significant ways to invest in the future of Huskie student-athletes. These endowments help provide the funds for athletic scholarships across all athletic programs. Funding an endowment leaves a lasting impression on Huskie student-athletes.

Making a gift today to the athletic endowment at Huskie Athletics will provide a permanent source of income to support student-athletes and allow them to compete for championships

Donors to the endowment program are among Huskie Athletics’ most important supporters. Donors of scholarships and coaching chairs may be recognized in special ways for their outstanding generosity, as seen by the following examples: • The donor’s name is permanently associated with a scholarship endowment. • Donors will be recognized at a home game. • Recognition is provided on the website. • Donors will have the opportunity to meet the student-athlete or coach selected to receive the endowed scholarship.
