THE FINNISH LABOUR MUSEUM WERSTAS

The history of ordinary people is showcased in the exhibitions of the FINNISH LABOUR MUSEUM WERSTAS. Entry to the museum is always free of charge. At Werstas, objects relating to workers’ lives, their work and machinery are on display, as well as a huge steam engine. Furthermore, Werstas hosts different themed exhibitions on various subjects.

Werstas is located in the middle of the historic Finlayson industrial area, on the edge of Väinö Linna Square.

Access to a museum, when a person is accompanied by a culture companion, is always free of charge. CULTURAL EDUCATION UNIT TAITE The Cultural Education Unit TAITE organises guided tours at museums, workshops, trainings, and special events for people of different ages. The services are usually without charge.

TAITE also organizes voluntary activities. You may ask for a volunteer cultural companion to come along with you, to acquaint yourself with e.g. museums, nature, a library or city gym or to go for a walk. With a volunteer you have free access to a museum.

Groups free of charge: All groups consisting of immigrants led by teachers or group leaders qualify for free admission to museums. The groups must notify the museum of their arrival in advance. The free visits do not apply to individuals but only to groups.
