"We need to focus on attacking as a team and with our recruiting we increased our offensive potential. It will take some time to get everything working together but we are going to work hard at doing it quickly. The key is to see how quickly we can integrate the freshmen and get them contributing to the play on the field ."

NORTHERN IOWA SOCCER FINISHES INITIAL CAMPAIGN SIXTH IN MVC WITH 3-14-2 RECORD The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team closed its first sea­ One week later. UNI picked up its first road win as they defeated Drury 1-0 son of women's soccer with a 3-14-2 record in a season highlighted by a sixth­ in Springfield. Mo. Once again. Less than six months and a lot of work later. the Panther soccer team was Falls. Three first-half surgery, but her five goals still managed to lead the team in scoring. Junior goals were the difference against the Mavericks. and Anne Marie Witko had 1D Jane Masteller had four goals and two assists to finish as the team's second­ saves in net. leading scorer and scored UNl 's first hat trick in an Aug. 31 loss to Morningside. UNl's first-ever win in conference and over a Division I opponent came Freshman Sarah Lowe scored four goals on the year. including two game-win­ three weeks later on Oct. 1, when they shutout Belmont 1-0.
