Saturday, September 27, the Nashville Arena will host the Ice Breaker Bash. Starting at noon, the event will feature the whole staff of the franchise and an unveiling of the team logo. It is also the first day when you can buy season tickets. Roam the Arena and find the perfect section for yourself or group! Merchandise will also be on sale.

Team Nickname? It's Your Call

You won't know the team nickname at the Bash, but you will have a chance to have your voice heard! Three potential names were released last Thursday: Ice Tigers, The Fury and The Attack.

Update: Craig Leipold has added the name "Predators" to the short list of potential names. If you care about our name, then get to the Bash!

August 7, 1997 Head Coach Named

General manager, David Poile, has selected Barry Trotz for the head coaching position of the Nashville NHL franchise. This will be Trotz's first appearance as an NHL coach.

Last season, he was the coach for the ' farm team, the Portland Pirates (AHL). The assistant coach of the Pirates, Paul Gardner, will join Trotz in Nashville as the assistant coach.

July 9, 1997 David Poile named General Manager

Jack Diller, President of the Nashville NHL franchise, has picked David Poile, former GM of the Washington Capitals, as Nashville's first general manager. Poile was with the Caps for 15 seasons. Under Poile, the Caps made it to the playoffs 14 years straight. He also engineered the trade that brought , Bill Ranford and Ricket Tocchet to Washington in exchange for , , Catter.
