Abstract The Pali Canon is the most important source for early Buddhist doctrine, primarily because it constitutes the only completely preserved scriptural collection among Early Buddhist schools. Among the three piṭakas that constitute the Pali Canon, the Suttapiṭaka contains most of the Buddha’s teachings. In this document, an English-language chapter (vagga) level overview of the first four nikāyas of the Suttapiṭaka is provided, with links for each chapter to suttacentral.net, a website dedicated to the Early Buddhist Texts. The superscripts refer to the last sutta in each chapter. For example, DN13 is the last sutta in The Chapter Containing the Section on Ethics. The English translations for the chapters and the sutta numbers are based on those used on SuttaCentral.
