JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Development is a key member of Elmwood’s Advancement team involved in all facets of fundraising including the annual giving campaign (Elmwood Fund), the annual Gala and all aspects of donor lifecycle management.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Advancement and Community Relations, the successful candidate will work closely with other members of the Advancement team and parent and alumnae volunteers to meet the school’s financial and participation goals and nurture a culture of philanthropy within our various stakeholder groups.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Develop and implement the annual giving program (the “Elmwood Fund”) including targeted campaigns for various stakeholders (parents, grandparents, alumnae, past parents, staff), volunteer coordination, managementof the communications plan (direct mail and phone campaigns) and any associated events. ● Manage a team of volunteers and the school's internal resources towards a successful annual Gala including the development and execution of the acquisition strategy, sponsorship strategy, PR and media strategy, volunteer management, supplier engagement and event planning and execution. .../2 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (con’t):

● Develop and implement the annual giving program (the “Elmwood Fund”) including targeted campaigns for various stakeholders (parents, grandparents, alumnae, past parents, staff), volunteer coordination, management of the communications plan (direct mail and phone campaigns) and any associated events. ● Manage a team of volunteers and the school's internal resources towards a successful annual Gala including the development and execution of the acquisition strategy, sponsorship strategy, PR and media strategy, volunteer management, supplier engagement and event planning and execution. ● Measure and track the success of various fundraising initiatives against key performance indicators and work with the integrated team to communicate results to fuel the culture of philanthropy at Elmwood. ● Actively participate in donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, recognition and stewardship. ● Work with various stakeholders and manage event logistics for various other fundraising, donor cultivation and donor recognition events both large and small. ● Manage the timely acknowledgement and receipting of contributions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

● Post-secondary education in business, marketing, communications or related field. ● A minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising. ● Proven experience in event and volunteer management. ● Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and organizational skills ● Results-driven and goal-oriented ● Sound knowledge of fundraising concepts, policies, procedures and best practices. Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation is an asset. ● Familiarity with Senior Systems is an asset. ● Excellent project management skills ● Strong self-motivation and ability to work as part of a high-performance team ● A relentless commitment to accuracy and a passion for detail ● Positive, creative, collaborative and organized ● Ability to manage changing priorities, concurrent projects and demanding deadlines ● Ability to work well on your own and work effectively as a team player ● Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends during the school year ● Commitment to and passion for the vision, mission and values of the school
