Considered “uncreated” and eternal, the ﬁnal revelation of God’s word, superseding all others.

Revealed to Muhammed by a spirit claiming to be the Archangel Gabriel from 610 to 632AD.

Same spirit also revealed the redacted “Satanic Verses” (53:21).

114 Sura arranged by size, not chronologically. 71 Sura have verses abrogated by later ones...

Codiﬁed roughly 21 years after Muhammed’s death. All other versions destroyed.

Surah 2:106 “None of Our revelations do We abrogate or cause to be forgotten, but We substitute something better or similar: Knowest thou not that Allah Hath power over all things?”

Surah 16:101 “When We substitute one revelation for another, and Allah knows best what He reveals, they say ‘Thou art but a forger’: but most of them understand not.”

WHY YOU CARE: There are no contradictions. Later verses cancel earlier ones.

In western civilization, Honesty is a moral absolute. It is the gold standard for character evaluation and the primary indicator of trustworthiness. There is no Judeao-Christian ethical equivalent of the Ten Commandments in the Quran. When interacting with non-muslims, Muslims are obligated to lie when they feel doing so will further the ends of Islam.
