Using hoopla is as easy as 1-2-3!

Create a free account Go to www.highpointpubliclibrary.com and click on the hoopla link under Popular Destinations.

Click Get Started, complete the form below, then click Sign Up Now.

Your Library Card # should be entered with no spaces and your PIN is the last 4 digits of your phone number.

NOTE: You will get a message once a year that your library card has “expired” and that you won’t be able to access NCDL. This just means that you need to contact the library and update your contact information with us. Once you do that, you will have full access again.

If your PIN ever changes, contact the library and get it updated, then go to your hoopla account and update it under Settings as well.

Browse and Borrow You can then browse the entire Hoopla collection that includes over 300,000 books (ebook, audiobook & comics), music (albums), movies and television shows!

Just the facts... There's no wait to borrow popular audiobooks, ebooks, movies, TV shows, or music albums. AND, you can checkout items up to 3 times each month.

Tips: If it’s at the end of the day, you may get a message about reaching the “daily lending limit”. You would just need to checkout the day. Also, if it’s near the end of a month, you might want to add titles to your Favorites list so you can start with a full month worth of checkouts.

How does it work?

Movies and TV show episodes: you get for 3 Days

Music albums: you get for 7 Days

Audiobooks, eBooks and Comics: you get for 21 Days

Searching To search, choose a categories or type a title, person or series in the search box at the bottom of the screen.

You can then view the list of titles and FILTER the list to narrow down your choices. You can also browse one of the featured lists scrolling at the top of the screen.

Once you’ve found a title you want, hover over the cover, click BORROW, and you can begin enjoying the title right away.

The titles are automatically returned at the end of the period, so you don't have to worry about any late fees. You can also return them early.

You can stream these titles on your mobile device or desktop/laptop computer (with Wi-Fi or internet connection). They can also be temporarily downloaded to many Apple or Android devices. To see a complete list of supported devices, or for any other questions, click Help at the bottom of the screen.

Hoopla in your browser Hoopla supports most browsers, including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Internet Explorer 11, and Safari. You should always use the latest version of any browser to make you will have the best possible experience.

Some browsers require plugins for media playback. Mozilla Firefox requires Widevine, Microsoft Inter- net Explorer 11 (Windows 8.1 & 10) requires Flash, and Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 (Windows 7 & 8) and Safari (Macs) require Microsoft Silverlight.

Hoopla on your tv APPLE Airplay: We currently support Airplay on 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th generation Apple TV devices. Apple TV: The hoopla app is available on 4th and 5th gen devices. Lightning Digital AV Adapter: We support the official Lightning Digital AV Adapter from Apple. Use the Lightning Digital AV Adapter with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod with Lightning connector. Android TV: We support all Android TV devices.

Chromecast: We currently support casting from iOS and Android devices to the 1st and 2nd generation Chromecasts. If you already have a Chromecast set up click here for instructions on how to cast from an app: https://support.google.com/chromecast/answer/3006709. We do not support casting from a browser.

Fire TV: We currently support all 1st and 2nd gen devices. Support for 3rd gen devices is coming soon.

Roku: We offer a Roku channel for devices running 7.6.3 and higher.
