He had seven points in the first five games twice previously – last season (2-5-7) and in 2014-15 (2-5-7).

Shayne Gostisbehere recorded his third career three-assist game but second this season. He had three assists in the opening-night win on Oct. 4 in San Jose. He has eight assists through the first five games, which tied him for third in the NHL entering Monday’s games. He has assisted on five of the six power play goals the Flyers have scored this season.

Claude Giroux recorded his ninth career game of four or more points, but it’s just the third time he’s done it while scoring multiple goals. His last four-point game was Feb. 29, 2016 vs. Calgary (4A). Claude Giroux enters his sixth season as the of the Flyers. He is the first Flyer to start a sixth season as captain since , who was the captain from 1994-2000, and has played more games as captain than anyone in team history other than . Giroux appeared in all 82 games last season, doing so for the fourth time in his career. He has missed just 10 regular season games since the start of the 2009-10 season. Since the start of the 2010-11 season, Giroux ranks fourth in scoring in the NHL behind only Alex Ovechkin, Patrick Kane and Sidney Crosby.

Nolan Patrick made his NHL debut Oct. 4 and has since recorded both his first NHL assist and goal. Patrick, the club’s highest draft pick since in 2007, is the first Flyer to make the team in his draft year since Sean Couturier did it in 2011. (Scott Laughton appeared in five games for the Flyers during his draft year but was returned to junior afterwards.) He became the youngest Flyer to appear in a game since Laughton made his debut at age 18 years, 234 days on Jan. 20, 2013 vs. Pittsburgh. Couturier made his debut on Oct. 6, 2011 at the age of 18 years, 303 days. Other Flyers to make the team during their draft year since 1990 include Mike Ricci (1990), Yanick Dupre (1991), Dainius Zubrus (1996), Justin Williams (2000), and Luca Sbisa (2008).
