UW HEALTH MOVING FORWARD SEMINAR – Monday, August 10, 2015

This free seminar series features topic experts to provide in-depth information about various health-related issues. This particular seminar will discuss communication strategies when dealing with a failing memory, short attention span, word-finding difficulties, and speech changes. Kari A Esser, MS, CCC-SLP, a Senior Speech-Language Pathologist at UW Hospital and Clinics, will present techniques and strategies to use when you face communication obstacles. The Wisconsin Pottery Association Show & Sale comes to Exhibition Hall on August 22. The sale will feature 50 dealers selling vintage & contemporary ceramics including art pottery, dinnerware, stoneware, tile, and figurines. DANE COUNTY FAIR – Wednesday-Sunday, July 15-19, 2015

For over 160 years, the Dane County Fair has been a family destination for people in the Dane County area. This year, as a nod to the online presence of the fair, the theme is #experienceit, which encourages people to share their experiences at the fair on social media. The 2015 Dane County Fair will also feature a brand new layout, with livestock exhibits, show arenas, Kiddie Farm, and some youth exhibits being housed in the New Holland Pavilions. The Exhibition Hall will also undergo a layout- makeover with youth exhibits located in the Mendota Rooms and Commercial Exhibits located in the lobby. Admission to the fair is as follows: Adults (12 and older) - $8 daily/$20 season; Children (6-11 years old) - $3 daily/$6 season; 5 and under – Free.
