Supplies Needed * 12 inches of 14kt. filled 21 gauge square half hard wire or practice wire * 1 6mm CZ or synthetic gemstone * 1 6mm heavy duty 6 prong gold filled snap set

Tools Needed * Round nose * Flat nose pliers * Chain nose pliers * Wire cutter or flush cutter * Sharpie marking pen * Optional plastic jaw pliers Step 1 Cut a 9 inch length of 21 gauge gold filled square half hard wire.

Mark the center of the wire with your marking pen.

Using your flat nose pliers, bend the wire in half.

Step 2

Squeeze the tip of the bent together tightly using your flat nose pliers.

Step 3

Holding the tip of the folded wires with your flat nose pliers, bend both wires out and away from the pliers.

Step 4 Here comes some creativity ----- the bending and hand shaping part----

Take the loose end of each wire and pull it around and towards the bottom of the heart, forming the sides of the heart.

Step 5

Form and shape up your heart. Remember that the heart doesn't have to be absolutely perfect - If it's a little different on each side, it will give your heart a little character and make it truly a one-of-a- kind wire .

Step 6

Now at the point where your long heart wires cross, grab one of the wires with your flat nose pliers and bend it straight back (upwards). Do the same to the other wire. These two wires will be your bail wires.

Bring your two bail wires together with your fingers and straighten them up. Step 7

Take a 6mm faceted gemstone and lay it on the table, face down. Take a 6mm six prong snap set and, using your thumb, gently push the snap set directly down onto the gemstone. You will hear a pop when the stone is set.

Step 8

You can tighten the prongs of the snap set with your flat nose pliers. Gently press in on opposite prongs to secure the prongs.

Step 9

Next take your snap set with gemstone and run the two bail wires through the setting, centering the wire between the two center prongs and the four outside prongs.

Bring the snap set and gem all the way down to the center of the heart. Step 10

With your round nose pliers, grasp the two bail wires about one inch up from the center of the gemstone and bend the two wires back to form the bail.

Step 11

Take one bail wire, press it towards the snapset, and cut it so it is just long enough to come right up to the snap set. Now press and cut the second bail wire. Cut the wires flush to the edge of the snap set.

Step 12

Take a 3 inch length of 21 gauge gold filled square half hard wire and bend one end with your flat nose pliers.

Step 13

Next place the hook of the wrap wire right above the snap set and began wrapping the wire around the bail. Neatly make about two or three complete wraps and cut the excess wire off.

Tip: Remember to always cut wrap wires on the backside of the pendant so you will have a nice smooth look in front. Step 14

Straighten your bail wires. At this point you may have to shape up your heart with plastic jawed pliers. If you don't have these pliers, just put some masking tape on your flat nose pliers and that will do the trick.

Step 15

You're finished wire gemstone heart pendant!
