Dad 1 s an absent-minded professorwho spends all his time gazing at the stars through a telescope. Jerry the eldest daughter,is following rightin her father's footsteps; while Donna is a budding writer. Beth is Donna's best friend, who is remotely interested in Bill, Donna's brother. Grumbling Izzy, the maid, is dis gusted with the hectic household she is working in. The tun begins when Dick Mallon, a Big League baseball player, comes back to his town for a visit. He brings with him a movie star friend, Joan Mayberry, who he is supposed to be engaged to, and their agent, Joe Alcott. Donna and Beth, with reluctant help of Bill, try to renew a romance that once budded between Dick and Jerry. After a few failures, Dick finds out what they are up to. Bobbette Braddock is a "dyed-in-the-wool" tomboy. She even (but don't tell her mother) plays football withthe "Dirty Dozen" team. The "Dirty Dozen" are her gang. And a more sloppy, lovable, and laughable bunch it would be hard to find! Mother, however, wants Bobbette to be a young lady and cultivate other young ladies like Frieda Fisher. Mother has even arranged to have the Fashion Show, a local social hi~rhli2ht. held at her h e. Bobbette. of cqurse. is to model a very feminine evening gown. When Mother arrives with the Fashion Show committee to find the "Dirty Dozen" in her livinQ: room and absent-minded Dad handnQ: laun dry all over the place, it's enoughto send anybody to bed with a head-ache. Both Bobbette and Dad beat a hasty retreat. Bobbette's troubles aren't limited to the unwelcome fashion show, however. Frieda Fisher moves in on the "Dirty Dozen, • changing them from a rough-and-ready football team to a clean, lovesick bunch of dandies, all begging Frieda to teach them to dance. Bobbette decides all is lost and life for her is over. She drops out of sight, temporarily, leaving her parents the •Dirty Dozen," and win top honors at the Fashion Show in the third act.

Here at the half vay mark in our four years of high school, ve sophomores are beginnin11: to wonder what the outcome vill be t wo years fran nov. Near the beginning of the busy year ve found time in our schedule to give a sock hop for the enjoyment of the faculty and high school students. It seemed to be a complete success. Mr. Powers, our class sponsor, has also helped make our year more enjoyable. The Junior-Senior Banquet had the whole class in suspense, as the waiters and waitresses were chosen from the sophomore class. We vish the best of luck to the seniors in the future. On September 2, 1957, twenty-six freshmen walked up the stairs of the school wondering what high school would be like. Before initiation we all had horrible thoughts of what would happen to us. The seniors had their fun when we had to bow to them and carry green walnuts. Afterwards we decided that we had fun too. We were sorry when one of our classmates, Nancy Haynes, left to go to St. louis, Missouri. We vere happy to have her back vith us again in March. We enjoyed a movie for our first class party. In spiteof the upper clasmen we've hada very enjoyable rearin high school. indergarten
