COMMISSIONERATE OF AGRICULTURE ANDHRA PRADESH, GUNTUR (Statistics section) SEASON AND CROP COVERAGE (RABI 2019-20 SEASON) 1. WEATHER CONDITIONS 1.1. North-East Monsoon: The North-East Monsoon rains commenced over Tamilnadu and adjoining areas of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala on 16th October, 2019. The average rainfall received from 1.10.2019 to

06.11.2019 is recorded as 205.2 mm as against the Normal as on date 204.7 mm showing Normal 0.2 per cent.

Dry weather likely to prevail over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema.

Overall, the average rainfall received in Andhra Pradesh from 1-6-2019 to 06-11-2019 is recorded as 738.0 mm as against the Normal as on date of 760.7 mm showing by Normal -3.0 percent.

III. CROP SOWINGS Rabi 2019 -20 The total area sown in the State is 2.72 lakh ha. (12%) as against the normal area of 22.78 lakh ha., and normal as on date is 3.58 lakh ha. (76%).

IV. AGRICULTURAL OPERATIONS AND CROP CONDITIONS.

Kharif crops like Paddy is at panicle initiation to harvesting stage. Jowar and Bajra crops are at grain hardening to harvesting stage. Maize is at cob formation to grain hardening stage. Red gram is at flowering stage. Green gram and Black gram crops are at pod maturity to harvesting stage. Groundnut is at pod maturity to harvesting stage. Cotton is at boll formation stage. Sugarcane is at cane development stage.

Rabi: The farmers are taking up the land preparation and Rabi Sowings are under progress in the state. Paddy is at nursery to transplantation stage. Bengalgram is at sowings to vegetative stage.
