Pastor’s Page Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, This past weekend several of the local Catholic Churches had some anti- Catholic literature put on certain vehicles. VERY SAD! We wanted to share a few thoughts. 1. The person or people who wrote this literature did not sign their name or give any contact information. This person or people are cowards!!! We have a practice that if somebody sends us a letter or a note that is unsigned, we will throw in the garbage and won’t read it. If people can’t own up to what they wrote then ultimately it has no value. 2. Many of the things written in that anti-Catholic literature can be easily explained. Example: One of the complaints from the writer said that “only prays for us before the Father, not Mary or any Catholic Saint!” We answer with this: · Revelation 8:3 – The prayers of the saints rise up before God, and then God acts on earth. Also, our is not just about the Sacred Scriptures. We believe that the Bible is very important, but also, we are a Faith of Tradition. “But there are also many other things which Jesus did; were every one of them to be written, We suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.” John 21:25 RSV. The Apostles were taught the Faith and they handed it down to us. 3. "Let nothing disturb you, let nothing frighten you. Those who know God have everything. Only God is enough." St. Teresa of Avila. The people who wrote this are very misguided and they’re not very Christian. We all need to pray for them! We as Catholics have to be very careful that we do not stoop to that level. We have to have in our hearts. God is and He sent his Son to suffer and die so that all might live forever! 4. Having said that, we did call the police and got a picture of the vehicle that was in involved. We are going to pursue this and hopefully put a stop to this foolishness! God bless, Fr. Abraham Mupparathara, MCBS Fr. Brian Gerber
