30 FUJITSU DATA BOOK Principal Subsidiaries and Affiliated Companies ■ The Americas In the U.S., the financial market turmoil triggered by the subprime loan crisis is expected to have an impact on the real economy, suggesting that some degree of economic slowdown is unavoidable in fiscal 2007. Against this backdrop, Fujitsu is strengthening its existing businesses in the Americas—namely, servers, storage products, and PCs at Fujitsu Computer Systems, optical transmission systems at Fujitsu Network Communications, and consulting and outsourcing services at Fujitsu Consulting. In addition, through coordinated efforts among these companies, we will promote integrated solutions. By providing solutions targeted at key industries such as retailing, healthcare, and financial services, and driving business expansion through acquisitions, we plan to accelerate growth despite the challenging economic environment.

32 FUJITSU DATA BOOK ■ Europe EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa), with its rich diversity in languages, currencies and cultures, is expected to experience strong growth in demand for IT services in the coming years. With Western Europe, home to many major customers, and promising emerging markets in Eastern Europe and Russia, EMEA is expected to grow at an average annual rate of 7% between 2005 and 2009. This market was estimated to be worth approximately 50 trillion yen in 2006. In April 2007, Fujitsu established Fujitsu EMEA PLC with the mission of devising strategy for the whole of EMEA and overseeing Fujitsu's operating entities in this region. We are strengthening our business by building a framework of cooperation among regional Fujitsu companies, as well as a global framework that links each company with headquarters. The goals in the services business are to enhance Fujitsu’s strong position in the UK government/public sector as well as to expand business in continental Europe and with private-sector clients. In the system platforms business, we will further promote the TRIOLE optimization model, strengthen data center capabilities, and promote next- generation networks (NGN) for telecommunications carriers.

34 FUJITSU DATA BOOK ■ Asia and Oceania In China, IT investment is projected to maintain a compound annual growth rate of 11% or more from 2006 through 2011. Having designated the rapidly growing technology solutions segment as a strategic business, Fujitsu is optimizing and reallocating resources to this area. With regards to the solutions and SI businesses, in particular, Fujitsu will step up activities targeted at local customers as well as European and U.S. companies entering the market, in addition to ongoing business activities aimed at Japanese companies in China. Concurrently, in our system platforms sub-segment, we plan to redouble efforts in fields that are likely to be the focal point of IT investment in the future, such as telecommunications carriers, the government and public sector, and financial services. Apart from China, the APAC region, including India, represents a massive market, with a population of roughly 1.7 billion. The information and telecommunications market in this region is estimated at upwards of 9 trillion yen and high annual growth of 8% is expected between 2005 and 2008. This region is an expansive area with a multitude of cultures and a wide range of customer expectations and needs. Fujitsu aims to promote its broad range of IT services in such areas as system design, system deployment and operational support, and consulting, and tailor its offerings to meet the needs of each market and customer. Fujitsu will also continue to supply high-quality solutions to customers developing their businesses globally. At the same time, we intend to actively expand our offshore development operations by outsourcing affiliates in the region, particularly in the Philippines and India. The region is also an important manufacturing base for Fujitsu, and we will seek to promote tighter regional integration of our business operations by expanding our sales in the region.

46 FUJITSU DATA BOOK Environmental Activities

■ The Origin of Fujitsu Group Environmental Management

Environmental management has been an integral part of the corporate culture and DNA of the company since its establishment. Fujitsu Group environmental activities are based on its philosophy of “manufacturing in harmony with nature.” For instance, at the time that the Kawasaki Plant was established, Fujitsu’s first president insisted that (1) the facility should not look like a factory from the outside, (2) the grounds should be laid out like a park, and (3) the site should be a model of neatness and cleanliness. Based on these concepts, a pond was created on the grounds in front of the building. At the time, building a factory in a landscaped industrial park was revolutionary, but the common environmental ethos provides a seamless connection with the activities of the Fujitsu Group today. Successive generations of managers and employees have inherited an environmentally oriented culture, which Fujitsu sees as a valuable asset. Fujitsu Group Environmental Protection Program Protection Environmental Fujitsu Group

■ Fujitsu Group Environmental Management Fujitsu Group Environmental Policy

Fujitsu Group environmental activities progress along a path that is defined by a group of core The FUJITSU Way principles known as The FUJITSU Way, a guiding philosophy for the behavior of the company Mission and its employees. The environment is defined as one of the five values of The FUJITSU Way. Based on these principles, Fujitsu has formulated the Fujitsu Group Environmental Policy as a Values philosophy to guide the company’s environmental activities. The Fujitsu Group Environmental Profits & Customers Employees Quality Environment Protection Program sets out action plans covering specific activities. Growth

In this way, Fujitsu's senior management has conveyed its strong conviction that Code of Conduct environmental activities are an important pillar of management, that all employees should share a strong commitment to environmental protection, and that the company should work to fulfill its environmental objectives.

■ Fujitsu Group Environmental Protection Program

Fujitsu formulates medium-term environmental action programs to set forth concrete objectives for environmental activities. This approach has enabled Fujitsu to register a number of significant achievements in the environmental field.

[Environmental management achievements] -- Converted entire product line into "Green Products" and offered "Super Green Products" with superior environmental profiles -- Resource reuse and recycling rate for collected end-of-life IT products surpassed 90% -- Offered Environmentally Conscious Solutions that help customers and society reduce the environmental impact of their activities -- Promoted “Green Factories” concept, including implementation of global warming countermeasures at production sites and achievement of zero waste emissions -- Obtained globally integrated ISO14001 certification for Fujitsu Group, including group companies overseas

Stage V of the Fujitsu Group Environmental Protection Program is a new three-year plan beginning from fiscal 2007. Under this plan, Fujitsu aims to make further progress in five key areas : Improving the Environmental Value of Products and Services; Global Warming Countermeasures; Reinforcing Governance; Reinforcing Risk Management; and Environmental and Social Contributions.

■ The Mission of Fujitsu Group

Besides reducing its own environmental impact, as a provider of IT products and services, the Fujitsu Group also aims to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society by helping customers and communities around the world to reduce environmental impact.
