Last year a relative of some of our students in the school, Mary Asi, wife of Pastor Duli, based at the Christian Leaders Training College at Banz, near Mt Hagen, spoke with Jill about how we teach Reading.

Jill spent an afternoon with her showing her what we do to teach Literacy. Jill printed out the phonics pack and gave Temple students teaching dance classes to the PNG children. her an outline of our Literacy Curriculum. Since then she has undertaken LEM phonics training her. The teachers at the school at Banz asked Mary to come in and run phonics classes in the school.

Jill hadn’t given their meeting another thought until recently Mary was sitting in the office and enthusiastically shared with Jill the incredible progress the children are making. She is keen to have Jill come up and see for herself.
